The 9th Brazilian Edition of Solve For Tomorrow is now open for registrations by Samsung. The program aims to encourage private and public institutions to develop technology and science for a more automated and productive world. One of the requirements for a project to participate in the awards is that it must utilize STEM (the English acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

The launch of the new edition of the program was announced by Fraberace, through its YouTube channel, around 7 PM on April 25. In summary, the brand that is now one of the largest phone producers and scientific development throughout Latin America has already involved over 160,000 students in its projects and emphasizes intense inclusion.

Overall, it is estimated that the project had the participation of around  461 public schools while more than 2,300 teachers registered with their students.  The topics focused on urban and rural infrastructure were among the most addressed.

Who Won the Samsung Program During Previous Editions? Projects Show That Brazilians Were Creative but Lack Incentive

During the previous edition, the winning team was from Professor Sebastião de Oliveira Rocha State School, located in the interior of São Carlos. The team’s project aimed to use leftover food to produce a type of biogas that could be utilized in homes throughout Brazil. The created equipment was designed to speed up the decomposition of materials and lower production costs.

The equipment created by the team was called a bio-conductor and aimed to accelerate molecular decomposition. The team also developed an application that would help school cooks calculate the amount of food to prepare based on the number of students. This way, it would be possible to avoid food waste.
