A resident of Fort Washington, Maryland, claimed to have used numbers seen repeatedly on license plates to bet on the Pick 5 lottery and ended up winning a total prize of $100,000 after the drawing held on December 20.

According to authorities from the Maryland Lottery, the man bought two $1 tickets before a holiday while shopping at Royal Food Mart in Fort Washington. In both, he used the same number sequence: 25121.

Numbers Seen Repeatedly On License Plates

The bettor reported that he decided to use the sequence after noticing that the same numbers appeared frequently on license plates. The repetition caught his attention and motivated his choice of the combination used in the bet.

Ticket Purchase And Drawing Result

The man bought two tickets for the Pick 5 game, each costing $1, both with the sequence 25121.

The bet was registered at Royal Food Mart, located in the city of Fort Washington in the state of Maryland.

In the drawing held on December 20, each of the winning tickets guaranteed $50,000. Together, the two prizes totaled $100,000 received by the bettor.

Waiting To Claim The Prize

Despite the drawing result occurring in December, the winner had to wait until March 6 to go to the lottery headquarters to claim the prize. He explained that the delay was due to an injury.

During the period between the drawing and the cashing of the money, the man said he shared the information only with one person. According to him, he preferred to keep the situation confidential while waiting for his recovery.

Use Of Money After The Prize

After receiving the $100,000, the winner stated that he intends to use part of the money to pay medical expenses. He also said he plans to buy a used car with the remaining amount.

The bettor emphasized that he decided to play with the sequence after noticing the repetition of the numbers on license plates, a situation that ultimately resulted in the prize obtained from the lottery.
