T-Cross Is The Best-Selling SUV In Brazil And Can Be Financed With Installments Of R$ 2,158.96 — See Full Simulation.
The Volkswagen T-Cross closed the first half of 2025 as the best-selling new SUV in Brazil.
The data, released by the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave), reveals the dominance of the Volkswagen model in the national market, with an impressive 44,529 units registered in just six months.
This leadership was consolidated over the months, with the T-Cross maintaining the lead even in June, when it totaled 8,629 units sold, well ahead of the main competitors.
-
Less than a Tera TSI, up to 710 km of range and charging in 9 minutes: the new BYD Song Ultra expands the Chinese brand’s bet on increasingly faster, more technological, and competitively priced electric SUVs.
-
With a 1.0 engine producing 75 hp and costing less than R$ 70,000, Fiat’s car returns to the podium as the cheapest in the country; a temporary promotion for the 2026 Like version reduces the price of the Fiat Mobi.
-
With a mild hybrid system of 48 V, 176 hp and a price of R$ 175,990 in the Sahara version, the new Jeep Renegade changes mostly on the inside, improves slightly in fuel consumption, and remains almost the same car.
-
With a 293.5 cm³ engine and a range of up to 400 km with a 14.1-liter tank, the Honda CB 300F Twister 2026 has up to 24.7 hp, an initial price of R$ 25,150, and already exceeds R$ 29,000 in the Fipe Table.
But what justifies this preference of Brazilians for the model? And how much does it really cost to finance a new T-Cross?
T-Cross Soars In Leadership
The performance of the T-Cross in the first half of 2025 was striking.
With 44,529 units, it was well ahead of the second place, the Honda HR-V, which closed with 32,002 registrations. The third place went to the Hyundai Creta, with 31,177 units.
Next are:
- Toyota Corolla Cross: 30,090 units
- Jeep Compass: 27,531 units
- Chevrolet Tracker: 27,238 units
- Fiat Fastback: 25,160 units
- Nissan Kicks: 23,191 units
- Volkswagen Nivus: 22,598 units
- Jeep Renegade: 20,668 units
The competition between the middle positions also drew attention. The Compass, for example, surpassed the Tracker and returned to the fifth position. The Fastback also gained a position and overtook the Kicks.
June Confirms Leadership
Even with the arrival of new models and the expectation around facelifts, the T-Cross maintained its leadership in June as well.
There were 8,629 units registered in this period, compared to 6,415 for the Hyundai Creta and 6,179 for the Honda HR-V.
The list of best-selling vehicles in June also includes:
- Toyota Corolla Cross: 5,335 units
- Chevrolet Tracker: 4,993 units
- Fiat Fastback: 4,930 units
- Volkswagen Nivus: 4,731 units
- Jeep Compass: 4,546 units
- Fiat Pulse: 3,823 units
- Jeep Renegade: 3,411 units
Another highlight of the month was the Volkswagen Tera, which is already among the best sellers even with just a few days of sales. With 2,555 units, it outpaced models like the Citroën Basalt, Renault Duster, and Renault Kardian.
How Much Does It Cost To Finance A T-Cross?
With such impressive performance, it is natural for consumers to wonder how much it costs to have a T-Cross in the garage. To better understand this, let’s simulate financing based on real values.
Considering the price of R$ 189,000.00 for a new Volkswagen T-Cross, and a down payment of R$ 120,000.00, the amount to be financed would be R$ 69,000.00.
In this scenario, with a term of 48 months and an interest rate of 1.80% per month, the installment amount is R$ 2,158.96.
See below a summary of the simulation:
- Vehicle Price: R$ 189,000.00
- Down Payment: R$ 120,000.00
- Financed Amount: R$ 69,000.00
- Term: 48 months
- Monthly Interest: 1.80%
- Installment Amount: R$ 2,158.96
- Total Paid At The End: R$ 223,630.23
- Total Interest: R$ 34,630.23
- Percentage of Interest Over The Total Car Price: 15%
Thus, the consumer ends up paying R$ 223,630.23 for the vehicle — that is, R$ 34,630.23 more than the original amount, considering total financing over 48 installments.
Extreme Version Is The New Bet
Volkswagen is also investing in innovations to keep consumer interest. The Extreme version of the T-Cross, which now occupies the top of the line, was recently launched with new technology features, exclusive interior finishes, and a high-efficiency turbo engine.
The brand’s goal is to keep the model competitive against the growing competition in the compact SUV segment, one of the hottest in the Brazilian market.
Is It Worth Financing?
The decision to finance a car or not depends on each buyer’s financial profile.
In the case of the T-Cross, the simulation shows that even with a high down payment, the total amount paid over 48 months exceeds R$ 34,000 more than the financed amount.
For those who can wait and save the total amount, cash purchase represents significant savings.
On the other hand, financing may be the only viable alternative for many Brazilians. With monthly installments of just over R$ 2,000, the model positions itself among the accessible options within the compact SUV segment.
