In 2025, the Secretary of Agriculture of Alegrete coordinated the drilling of six community artesian wells in Jararaca, Durasnal, Rincão do 28, Pinheiros, Jacaquá, and Encruzilhada, with amendments from Cléo Trindade, Éder Fioravante, Firmina Soares, and Fátima Marchezan. The one in Pinheiros, completed on the 29th, serves five families in the rural area.
In 2025, Alegrete advanced water supply in the countryside with the drilling of 06 artesian wells in six locations, coordinated by the Secretary of Agriculture. On the last day of the month, the well in the Pinheiros location was completed, with an expectation of serving at least 05 families.
The Secretary informs that, next week, the contracted company will resume activities to deliver the well in the Jacaquá location. This initiative is part of the work developed by the department, focusing on expanding access to water in rural communities.
Where the Artesian Wells Were Drilled in 2025
According to the presented data, in 2025, 06 community artesian wells were drilled in the following locations:

How the Municipality Funded the Artesian Wells
To make the drilling of the artesian wells feasible, resources from mandatory amendments from the councilors were used:

and also from former councilor Fátima Marchezan.
The execution is carried out by a contracted company, with the supervision and coordination of the Secretary.

The well in the Pinheiros location was completed on the 29th.
The official information is that it will serve at least 05 families, reinforcing water supply in the countryside and directly serving rural residents.
Next Delivery: Well in Jacaquá with Resumption Next Week
The Secretary states that, next week, the company will resume activities to deliver the well in the Jacaquá location.
The continuity forecast indicates that the artesian wells continue to be a practical axis of the supply strategy in the countryside.
Next Step: Partnership with Incra to Bring Water Network to Settlements
For next year, the Secretary intends to address a long-standing demand within agrarian reform settlements, seeking to meet the needs of these rural communities.
The planned design is:
- The city hall provides resources for the drilling of artesian wells
- Incra transfers to the water distribution network to the houses, including hoses, water tank, tower, pumping station, among other items
