In total, 205 cars and motorcycles will be offered at the auction by Leilões Freire. Registration on the website must be done up to 48 hours before the auction starts for documentation analysis. The vehicles can be inspected in person starting this Wednesday (1st) at the Detran yards in Maceió and Arapiraca.
The lots can also be viewed on the auctioneer’s website. After the auction, any debts and fines associated with the vehicles will be cleared. This way, the cars and motorcycles can return to normal circulation.

According to Renan Silva, president of the Detran Auction Committee, once the entire process is finalized, any existing debts, such as fines, DPVAT insurance, and licensing incurred before the auction will be detached.
It is essential for participants to be aware of the condition of the vehicle they are bidding on, as it may have missing parts, rust, corrosion, and require repairs, which must be covered by the new owner.
Marco Fireman, president of Detran, highlights that the vehicles were parked occupying space in the agency’s yards and, with the auction, they will return to fulfilling their mobility function.
Who Can Participate in the Auction?
Individuals over 18 years old or emancipated can participate in the auction, and it is also necessary to be registered in the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF), in addition to having a proof of residence for the last three months.
For legal entities, it is mandatory to have a regular registration in the National Registry of Legal Entities (CNPJ). Additionally, copies of the Articles of Incorporation, the latest amendments, as well as an official document with photo, CPF, and proof of residence for the last three months of the legal representative are required.
Those who win the Detran Auction will have until January 11, 2024, to collect the vehicle. Otherwise, a fee related to excess daily rates will be charged until collection occurs, with a maximum limit of 180 calendar days. Caixa Holds Property Auctions
In addition to the Detran Auction, the Federal Savings Bank will hold three extrajudicial auctions of over 780 properties with discounts of up to 95% off the appraisal value. Among the offers are houses, apartments, plots of land, and commercial spaces with starting bids between R$ 1,640 to almost R$ 2 million.
According to Fidalgo Leilões, a large part of the properties were reclaimed due to non-payment of financing and condominium fees. Last Thursday (26), the Supreme Federal Court (STF) authorized banks to reclaim properties from debtors without a court decision.
Real estate law specialists advise that it’s necessary to conduct one’s own research on the history of the property of interest and be careful when dealing with bureaucracies after the bidding. The first phase of the auction includes more than 250 opportunities in 20 states and the Federal District.
The second and third phases offer 259 and 268 properties respectively. All properties available for auction have discounts of up to 95% from the market valuation. The auctions will be held online and the first phase will accept bids until November 7, at 10 AM.
