Specialization in School Management EaD: What the Course Includes
The specialization is part of the course offerings promoted within the framework of the Open University of Brazil (UAB) System and is organized by the Professional Development and Pedagogical Practices Coordination of Unesp (CDeP3).
The selected class will start in the first semester of 2026, and the selection process is valid for two years from the announcement publication.
Although it has support locations, Unesp informs in the announcement that the course will be conducted through synchronous and asynchronous activities, with no planned in-person stages.
Synchronous activities involve web conferences and virtual meetings at previously defined times.
Asynchronous activities take place in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), with readings, forums, and tasks within deadlines established by the coordination.
Unesp Support Locations: Where the Spots Are
The 150 School Management spots are divided among five locations linked to UAB.
Each location offers 30 spots in total, with distribution between broad competition and affirmative actions, according to the announcement table.
The locations listed for School Management are Araraquara (Centro), Bertioga (Indaiá neighborhood), Franca (Parque Francal), São Paulo (Interlagos), and São Paulo (Jardim São Roberto).
The application must be submitted by choosing only one location, with no possibility of changing after completing the registration.
The announcement also provides that if, at the end of all stages, a location has fewer than 15 approved candidates, CDeP3 may cancel the offer in that locality and reallocate spots or redistribute students among locations with remaining vacancies.
Who Can Apply for Unesp’s Postgraduate Program in School Management
To compete for a spot in the Specialization in School Management, candidates must meet two minimum requirements at the time of registration.
The first is to have a concluded Bachelor’s Degree from a higher education institution duly authorized or recognized by Inep/MEC or by the state education council.
Additionally, it is necessary to present a current, effective, or temporary contract as a teacher or member of the staff of public basic education in the public education network.
The announcement includes both those who already work in management and those who show interest in working in the area.
Another point that often raises questions is the way to prove this link.
The document, according to the announcement, must be presented through a specific declaration, issued within the last 90 days, following the model provided by Unesp.
Affirmative Actions at Unesp: Reserved Spots and Target Groups
The selection reserves 30% of the spots for the affirmative action modality.
The announcement includes candidates who are Black, Brown, and Indigenous.
Quilombolas.
People with disabilities.
Transgender individuals and transvestites.
Self-declaration is made at the time of registration, within the system indicated by Unesp.
The candidate needs to declare if they want to compete in this modality and assumes legal responsibility for the information provided, as warned in the announcement.
Selection Process by Document Analysis: How Classification Will Work
Unlike processes with objective tests, Unesp adopts as the sole selection criterion document analysis, which is classificatory and eliminatory.
In practice, this means that the candidate needs to submit documents that prove the items that score in the grid, such as qualifications and professional experiences related to basic education and management, when applicable.
According to the official schedule, document analysis will take place from February 9 to 15, 2026.
The announcement of the results in order of classification is scheduled for February 18, 2026, starting at 7 PM (Brasilia time), with a period for appeals between February 18 and 22.
The final classification is to be published on February 24.
The list of enrolled students will be released on February 26, 2026.
The announcement also states that there will be no separate enrollment period for those classified within the number of spots per location, who will be automatically enrolled.
