Haval H6 GT Hybrid SUV Comes Equipped With A 1.5 Turbo Gasoline Engine To Assist The Electric Motors When Needed
Brazil has already received the first shipment of the Haval H6 GT Hybrid SUV from GWM, coming directly from China. This will be the first vehicle that Great Wall Motors presents to the local market. The H6 variant of the coupe-styled SUV uses the same transmission system as the standard version. The company anticipates that the newcomer will debut in the Brazilian market in the first months of 2023.
The GWM intends to enter the Brazilian market with three product options and two distinct body variants, thanks to the launch of the Haval H6 GT. Besides it, the manufacturer also offers the H6 Premium SUV in the form of HEV, a conventional hybrid, as well as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. In other words, a hybrid vehicle that can be plugged into a power outlet to charge its batteries.
GWM states that the Haval H6 GT Hybrid SUV is powered by a plug-in hybrid system. Thus, it combines a gasoline engine with a 1.5-liter turbocharger and two additional electric motors, one on each axle. As a result, the SUV can reach 100 kilometers per hour from rest in less than five seconds, depending on the model.

The fact that traction control is built-in is one of the few details disclosed about the brand new Haval H6 GT. Therefore, GWM has not validated the power specifications, such as whether it is 393 horsepower like the conventional version.
It also did not indicate whether the transmission, which usually consists of two gears, is coupled to the internal combustion engine. Not only that, but no data was provided regarding consumption and performance.
GWM reports that the batteries of the new hybrid SUV have a capacity of 34 kWh. Thus, using only the electric mode of the H6 GT, it has a maximum range of 170 kilometers. Data from the Brazilian NBR cycle was used to obtain this number.

The car features red brake calipers and a GT badge, and all logos have been painted black. This adds to the dramatic slope of the roof at the rear of the vehicle. The shade is also present in the Haval emblem, which has been affixed to the newly installed front grille.
The interior of the hybrid SUV has not been seen in any of the photographs released by GWM. On the other hand, it revealed that the trim has elements that simulate carbon fiber. Additionally, there are suede fabric coverings on the dashboard, center console, doors, and seats. Like the H6, the new model is expected to include facial recognition through cameras.
Still this month, new batches of the Haval H6 Premium and Haval H6 GT are expected to arrive in Brazil, as reported by the manufacturer. The first way to acquire one of these vehicles will be through a pre-sale. After that, deliveries are expected to take place during the inauguration period of the brand’s retail points, which is set to happen by mid-year.
The importance of hybrid cars in Brazil is increasingly greater, as they offer a more sustainable alternative to traditional gasoline vehicles.
