With All This Equipment, The Nissan Sentra Hybrid Can Reach 100 Kilometers Per Hour In Just 8.6 Seconds
The Nissan presented the second model of its hybrid vehicle series in China, the Nissan Sentra e-Power Hybrid, while Brazil is still awaiting the arrival of the Kicks e-Power. The new Nissan Sentra uses an electric motor very similar to the compact SUV.
In addition, it includes a smaller gasoline engine that works as a generator to power the batteries and the electric system. Thus, the Sentra e-Power, which is known as Sylphy in the Chinese market, achieves fuel economy of 25.15 kilometers per liter and can travel about 1,200 kilometers on a single tank of gasoline.
The Nissan Sentra Hybrid is equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 72 horsepower. Despite the low number, the power is sufficient to provide the electric motor with the 100 kW and 136 hp needed. The torque is 30.5 mega-newton-meters. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 8.6 seconds when equipped with the package.

Honda’s pickup the size of the Ram Rampage will feature a new hybrid V6 engine, a new generation with a refreshed design, more power, and improved acceleration after a production pause until 2028 to compete with the Toyota Tacoma, the leader with 274,000 annual sales.
If the model is brought to Brazil, these values will need to be revised by the manufacturer to comply with the legislation. The power and torque figures will be increased, but on the other hand, fuel consumption will be higher than that achieved in China, which is expected with a biofuel.
The Nissan Sentra Hybrid e-Power is visually identical to the conventional model, which has a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that produces 147 horsepower. That is to say, it also features the new visual identity of the company, which includes more angular lines and a lower front, and does so within the V-Motion concept.
In addition, it has exclusive wheels, a roof of the same color as the body, and the word “e-Power” stamped on the trunk lid.
The Hybrid Version Of The Nissan Sentra May Arrive In Brazil Through Imports From Mexico
Since 2021, Nissan has been seriously considering the introduction of e-Power technology here in Brazil. The start of operations had been postponed, but Nissan stated at the end of August 2022 that the hybrid system would be available in South America in 2023.
“I won’t say which country it will come out in first, or in which model it will be available. Just the fact that it will arrive in 2023,” were the words of Ricardo Flammini, who is the Vice President of Marketing, Sales, and After-Sales for the automaker in South America. On the other hand, everything points to the debut being alongside the Kicks, already in the flex version. There is even a possibility that the hybrid SUV will be produced in our country.
The Nissan Sentra Hybrid is a car that combines a combustion engine with an electric motor, allowing it to run on both gasoline and electricity. This results in a more fuel-efficient car with reduced emissions of exhaust gases.
Hybrid technology has become increasingly important as hybrid cars contribute to reducing dependence on oil and decreasing emissions of gases that contribute to global warming. Additionally, hybrid cars may also have lower maintenance costs due to their lesser reliance on combustion engine parts.
