With 192 hp, 6-Speed Manual Transmission, and Sporty Behavior, the Honda Civic Si 2009 Reappears for Around R$ 45 Thousand and Remains Hotly Contested Among Brazilian Enthusiasts.

The Honda Civic Si 2009 remains one of the most desired sports cars in the used market for combining high-rev performance, precise manual transmission, and dynamic behavior that still impresses even after more than a decade. With 192 hp, aggressive front-wheel drive, and exemplary stability, the model has become a benchmark among accessible sports sedans, especially now that it can be found for prices close to R$ 45 thousand.

The combination of 2.0 i-VTEC engine, 6-speed manual transmission, and a design focused on rigidity and quick response keeps the Civic Si as one of the most appreciated cars by drivers seeking a real sporty experience and reliable mechanics. Even as a used car, the Si continues to be one of Honda’s most complete models in Brazil in terms of engineering.

2.0 i-VTEC Engine with 192 hp: High Rev, Immediate Response, and Sporty Signature

The heart of the Civic Si 2009 is the famous K20Z3 engine, part of the high-performance i-VTEC family.
This engine delivers 192 hp and about 19.2 kgfm, but its most striking characteristic is not the brute force, but rather how the power is built.

The i-VTEC system with intelligent variable cam timing allows the engine to run smoothly at low revs and transforms above 5,800 rpm, when the maximum valve opening profile comes into play. The result is aggressive behavior, with more intense acceleration as the revs rise, something rare in aspirated cars within the same price range.

The K20 engine is globally recognized for its durability, resistance to high mileage, and ability to maintain consistent performance for years.
The high revs, which can exceed 8,000 rpm, are one of the model’s signatures and one of the reasons for its popularity among enthusiasts.

6-Speed Manual Transmission: Precision, Short Shifts, and a Sense of Total Control

Another highlight is the 6-speed manual transmission, considered one of the best ever installed in a Honda in Brazil. The shifts are short, firm, and extremely precise, providing a sense of direct connection to the engine.

The gear ratio has been designed to keep the engine in an ideal rev range during acceleration and overtaking. This makes the Si agile on the road and very responsive in quick turns, where the K20Z3’s behavior is most dynamic.

This manual gearbox is one of the components most valued by sports car enthusiasts.
It reinforces the Civic Si’s proposal as a car to drive, not just to transport, which explains its continued popularity among used models sought by those who value the driving experience.

Reinforced Chassis, Sport Suspension, and Above-Average Dynamic Behavior

The Civic Si 2009 uses the eighth-generation Civic platform, but with exclusive adjustments for increased rigidity and stability. The suspension received sport calibration, firmer springs, and shock absorbers prepared to handle high revs and lateral acceleration.

The behavior in curves is one of the most impressive among cars in this price range.
The firm steering, well-distributed weight, and roll control allow the Si to enter and exit turns with the confidence typical of more expensive sports cars.

The disc brakes on all four wheels, with front ventilation, deliver strong and consistent braking, reinforcing safety in aggressive driving. Even with front-wheel drive, the Si offers surprising balance, with minimal loss of grip and quick responses to the driver’s commands.

Finishing, Driving Position, and the Honda Sport Experience

Inside, the Civic Si 2009 features exclusive details, such as sport seats, a steering wheel covered in premium material, and instruments with unique lighting. The low driving position reinforces the model’s sporty character, allowing for better visual and sensory control of the track.

The interior combines ergonomics, good quality materials, and a well-defined cockpit feel.
The upper digital cluster and the central analog tachometer create a performance-focused environment, reinforcing the sporty proposal.

Sound insulation has been adjusted to highlight the engine’s sound, especially at higher revs, enhancing the Si’s personality. This dynamic and auditory experience is one of the most distinctive aspects of the lineup.

Used Market, Maintenance, and Cost-Benefit

Even being a sports car, the Civic Si maintains a good reputation for reliability. The fuel consumption is higher than that of conventional versions, but the maintenance is predictable and compatible with aspirated sports in this category.

The supply in the market is lower, which keeps the model’s value stable. The price range of R$ 42 thousand to R$ 50 thousand is common for well-preserved units, especially those that are original and have a complete history.

With 2.0 i-VTEC engine producing 192 hp, 6-speed manual transmission, and sporty handling, the Honda Civic Si 2009 reappears in the used market for around R$ 45 thousand and remains contested among enthusiasts in Brazil

The Civic Si attracts an audience that knows exactly what it is buying. It is not just a powerful sedan but a car with a strong identity, visceral performance, and engineering that stands the test of time.
