The construction project for floating solar power plants provides for the installation of a structure in each state. Companies from Minas Gerais and Pernambuco join together to form a consortium for the development of an energy production project.

The Brazilian solar energy market continues to bear fruit for national states during this week. The states of Minas Gerais and Pernambuco are united in a partnership to develop a project to install floating solar power plants. A resource production will take place in the municipality of Grão Mogol, in Minas Gerais, and on the island of Fernando de Noronha, in Pernambuco, with a view to contributing to the energy security of the states.

Project of floating solar energy plants promises to bring good results to the states of Minas Gerais and Pernambuco in the coming years

Minas Gerais and Pernambuco are now preparing for the development of the project to install floating solar energy plants in their territories.

The states came together to take advantage of the good moment in the national renewable energy market, thus aiming to become even more relevant poles in the solar energy segment.

The project is already under development and, in Minas Gerais, the companies Creral, an energy cooperative based in Erechim, and Mil Engenharia, based in Tapejara, are already working on the construction of the installation.

They promise that the first of the project's floating plants will be the largest in the entire country, being installed in the region of Grão Mogol.

In Pernambuco, in turn, the island of Fernando de Noronha will gain its first floating solar plant, contributing to the sustainability and energy security of the state.

For the development of the project on the island, a total investment of R$ 10 million will be applied, coming from the Energy Efficiency Program of Neoenergia Pernambuco, regulated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

Consortium of companies from Minas Gerais was created to develop the floating power plant project in the state

Companies from the state of Minas Gerais joined together to develop a consortium, aiming to ensure more efficiency in the plans for the floating power plants, specifically carrying out the works at the UFV Veredas Sol e Lares, which will have an installed capacity of 1,2 MWp.

As for the assembly part of the solar energy production structure, it is being carried out on the water surface of the lake of the PCH Santa Marta, owned by Cemig.

The plant will be the largest enterprise of its kind in the whole country and will have unique characteristics to bring more efficiency to the production of solar energy.

It will have a total of 14 inverters, 60 meters of cables, in addition to 3.050 monocrystalline photovoltaic panels (dual glass and thin film) supported by 7.600 floats, in addition to having an incredible area of 11 m².

With the start of solar energy production at the plant, the state of Minas Gerais expects to meet the needs of 1.250 families in the semi-arid region, in 21 municipalities in Minas Gerais in the regions of the Jequitinhonha and Rio Pardo Valleys.

Fernando de Noronha plant should have its works started by the end of 2022

The Fernando de Noronha unit of the floating solar power plant project will bring improvements to the island's water supply.

The forecast is that the works will start by the end of this year, so that the delivery of the structure will take place by the month of July 2023.

The structure will have 949 solar panels to be installed, the system will have a power of around 630 kWp and an estimated generation of 1.238 MWh/year, thus also guaranteeing more energy security to the island.
