New Compact SUV From Nissan Arrives To Replace The Kicks Play, Keeps 1.6 Naturally Aspirated Engine And V Platform, Gains Its Own Visual And Targets Rivals Like Pulse, Tera And Kardian In The Entry Segment.

The Nissan Kait Will Be The Brand’s New Entry Compact SUV In Brazil, Derived From The First Generation Kicks, But With Its Own Look And Focus On Cost-Effectiveness.

Produced In Resende (RJ) And Expected To Reach Stores In 2026, The Model Will Maintain The Known 1.6 Naturally Aspirated Flex Engine And The V Platform, However With A Redesigned Body To Face Rivals Like Fiat Pulse, Volkswagen Tera, And Renault Kardian, Currently Among The Protagonists In The Entry Compact SUV Segment.

The Launch Takes Place At A Time Of Reorganization Of Nissan’s Portfolio In The Country.

Since June, The New Kicks Has Been Occupying The Upper Range Of The Line With A 1.0 Turbo Engine Of Up To 125 Hp, Automated Dual-Clutch Transmission And A Larger Technology Package, While The Old Kicks Continues To Be Produced As Kicks Play, In Simpler Versions With Lower Prices.

Nissan Kait Arrives In Brazil With A 1.6 Engine, Renewed Look, And V Platform To Compete In The Entry-Level Compact SUVs Segment.
Nissan Kait Arrives In Brazil With A 1.6 Engine, Renewed Look, And V Platform To Compete In The Entry-Level Compact SUVs Segment.

The Kait Arrives Precisely To Assume This Role As An Entry SUV, Gradually Replacing The Kicks Play And Maintaining A More Accessible Option Below The New Kicks.

V Platform And Project Structure

Although Presented As A “New” Model, The Kait Is Born From A Known Project.

Internally, The SUV Is Identified By The Code P02H, A Direct Evolution Of The First Generation Kicks, Which Is Known As P02F.

The Structural Base Is The Same V Platform Used By March, Versa And The Kicks Play Itself.

This Means That Elements Like A And B Pillars, Side Doors, Windows And Roof Remain Practically Unchanged, Which Reduces Development And Production Costs And Helps To Enable A More Aggressive Price Positioning.

Dimensions And Internal Capacity

In Terms Of Dimensions, The Kait Practically Replicates The Measures Of The Kicks Play.

Nissan Has Already Indicated That The Model Will Be About 4.30 Meters Long And 2.62 Meters Long Wheelbase, Numbers Sufficient To Comfortably Accommodate Five Occupants Within The Segment’s Proposal.

The 432-Liter Trunk Has Also Been Preserved, Ensuring One Of The Best Luggage Volumes Among Entry-Level Compact SUVs.

Updated External Design

The Main Difference Between The Kait And Kicks Play Will Be In Appearance.

Projections And Images Of Test Units Indicate A Taller Hood, Slimmer Headlights, LED Daytime Running Lights Positioned Just Below, And A Front Bumper With A Wide Lower Air Intake.

Black Gloss Inserts Contrasting With The Body Color Reinforce The Visual Appeal, Bringing The Design Closer To What Nissan Already Adopts In Larger SUVs Sold Abroad, Such As Ariya And X-Trail.

At The Rear, The Kait Should Bet On Thinner Taillights Than Those Of The Kicks Play And With Its Own Design, Connected By An Illuminated Section On The Trunk Lid.

The Cut Of This Lid Tends To Be Straighter, Which Helps To Reinforce The Sense Of Width Of The Car.

The License Plate Will Move To The Bumper, A Solution Common In Recent SUVs.

The Traditional Nissan Emblem Remains At The Center, Accompanied By The Kait Lettering Right Below.

Interior And Expected Equipment

Inside, Nissan Has Yet To Release Official Images Of The Interior.

The Project Reuses The Structure Of The Kicks Play, Updating Only What Is Necessary In Design And Equipment.

The Trend Is That The Finish Continues To Be Based On Hard Plastics, With Variations In Texture And Areas Covered In Fabric.

The Multimedia Center Should Maintain A Screen Around 7 Inches, With Mirroring For Android Auto And Apple CarPlay, In Addition To A Multifunction Steering Wheel, USB Input, Air Conditioning, And Electric Window And Mirror Controls From The Basic Versions.

1.6 Naturally Aspirated Engine And CVT Transmission

In The Mechanical Set, The Kait Adopts The Same Time-Tested Recipe Of The Previous SUV.

All Versions Will Use The 1.6 Flex Naturally Aspirated Engine, Which Develops Up To 113 Hp With Ethanol And About 15.2 Kgfm Of Torque, Combined With A CVT Transmission That Simulates Gear Ratios.

The Combination Prioritizes Simplicity, Durability, And Fuel Economy.

The New Generation Of The Kicks, In Turn, Moves Up A Step By Offering Only The 1.0 Turbo Flex Engine, Also Used By Renault Kardian.

While The Kicks Becomes The Technological Showcase, The Kait Fulfills The Function Of A Simpler And More Accessible Alternative.

So Far, Nissan Has Confirmed The 1.6 Set With CVT For The Kait.

Potential Manual Versions Have Not Yet Been Detailed.

Production In Resende And Export

The Production Of The New SUV Will Be Concentrated In The Industrial Complex Of Resende, In The Interior Of Rio De Janeiro.

The Kait Integrates The Investment Cycle Of R$ 2.8 Billion Announced By Nissan For Brazil.

The Brand’s Plan Is To Make The SUV A Regional Product, Serving About 20 Countries In The Americas, Especially Mexico And Argentina.

With The Arrival Of The Kait In The Assembly Line, The Kicks Play Is Expected To Be Gradually Discontinued.

Positioning And Price Range

In Commercial Terms, Everything Indicates That The Kait Will Fall Within The Same Price Range Currently Occupied By The Kicks Play.

The Current Model Is Sold Between R$ 117,990 And R$ 150,190, And The New SUV Should Operate Precisely Within This Interval, With Possible Adjustments Until The Launch.

In This Way, Nissan Maintains A Competitive Entry Point In The SUV Universe, While The Turbo Kicks Continues As A More Sophisticated Option.

Focusing On Space, Renewed Visuals, And Familiar Mechanics, What Should Influence Consumer Choice The Most: The Robust Simplicity Of The Kait Or The More Technological Proposal Of The New Kicks?
