Inside the old residence, carefully renovated to maintain its original rustic charm, there are four spacious and elegant bedrooms, as well as an open-plan living room with floor-to-ceiling windows. The announcement will be published on Booking.com at a completely unpredictable time on December 5, and only those who find it first will be able to book the trip. Across British social media, many are already preparing to stay on guard all day.

The initiative was created based on the travel trend predictions for 2026 developed by Booking.com, called “Hushed Hobbies”, which highlights the growing interest in quiet activities and immersions in nature. Therefore, the traveler’s itinerary includes birdwatching, light hiking, seaweed collection, and moments of absolute silence by the water.
A study conducted with 2,000 adults celebrating Christmas reveals that this behavior is far from isolated. The research showed that a significant portion of respondents would like to disappear from the intense routine of the festivities.
About 24% said they would prefer to completely disappear from the Christmas chaos and live a few days disconnected, without phones or obligations. Another 55% stated that their “ideal” Christmas would be quieter and more relaxing than in previous years, seeking a less noisy and more balanced season. Meanwhile, 33% declared they would travel simply to get closer to nature, as a way to regain a sense of calm that is often lost in the cities.
For Ryan Pearson, regional manager at Booking.com in the UK and Ireland, these numbers reflect a real change in traveler behavior. He states that there is a growing search for quiet environments and experiences that celebrate simplicity, reconnection, and rest. According to him, when the festive season becomes too demanding, true joy arises from the pause, the slow pace, and moments that escape the overstimulation of everyday life.
