E-commerce giant Shopee takes a significant step in its expansion in Brazil with the opening of its second largest distribution center, located in Guarulhos, São Paulo. Shopee, part of Singapore's Sea group, established its presence in Brazil in 2020, marking its first foray outside Asia. Since then, it has experienced substantial growth, now having nine distribution centers in Brazil.
With this opening, Shopee strengthens its presence in the Brazilian market, where it already has more than three million sellers on its platform, responsible for more than 90% of the company's sales in the country.

Although the exact size of the new distribution center has not been disclosed, the decision to install this infrastructure in Guarulhos it is strategic. This is not Shopee's first expansion move in 2023. The company has already announced the opening of two distribution centers in the cities of Recife e Salvador, marking its entry into the region Northeast of Brazil.
