The “Solar Energy for All” Program, Launched at Flumisul in Barra Mansa, Revolutionizes Access to Clean Energy with Affordable Solar Kits, Microcredit, and Comprehensive Solutions Aimed at Eliminating Costs for Electricity and Gas in Households and Small Businesses.

At a time when more than a third of Brazilian families spend more than half of their monthly income on electricity and cooking gas, the Sul Fluminense region becomes the stage for a true energy revolution. The “Solar Energy for All” program, resulting from the partnership between Sunlife and the Commercial, Industrial, Agricultural, and Service Provider Association of Barra Mansa (ACIAP), arrives as the solution that promises to democratize access to clean energy, reduce household costs, and boost the economic sustainability of the region.

The initiative will be officially presented during the Sul Fluminense Business Fair (Flumisul), from October 29 to November 1, at the City Park of Barra Mansa, a free event expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors.

Solar Energy as an Economic and Sustainable Solution

The program offers three models of solar kits adaptable to the different financial realities of families and micro-entrepreneurs. The proposal is simple and straightforward: replace traditional energy and gas consumption with renewable and free sources, without sacrificing home comfort.

1. Basic Solar Kit (starting at R$ 4,830):

Includes solar panels, an inverter with a 10-year warranty, and complete installation, providing savings of over R$ 100 per month on the electricity bill.

2. Solar Kit + Induction Stove (R$ 5,830):

In addition to the components of the basic kit, it includes a Sunlife 4-burner induction stove, eliminating gas expenses and providing combined savings of up to R$ 250 monthly.

3. Complete Solar Kit + Stove + Air Conditioner (R$ 6,930):

The program’s most complete solution also includes a Sunlife 9,000 BTU air conditioner, allowing thermal comfort without impacting energy consumption, with savings that can exceed R$ 350 monthly, especially in summer.

Solar Energy That Replaces Electricity and Gas: Double Savings and Real Impact

According to the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP), the average price of a 13 kg gas cylinder is R$ 108, which represents a monthly expenditure of R$ 100 to R$ 150 for a family of four. Sunlife’s CEO, Thiago Reis, emphasizes that kits with an induction stove eliminate this cost:

“With the kit that includes the induction stove, families permanently eliminate the expense with the gas cylinder. It’s an investment that pays off very quickly — the electric stove delivers the savings of gas.”

Reis adds that the complete kit also offers thermal comfort without increasing the electricity bill:

“For those who choose the complete kit with air conditioning, we offer thermal comfort without impacting the electricity bill.”

This model presents itself as a practical and sustainable response to the scenario where, according to data from Brasil 61, many families in Sul Fluminense spend more on energy and gas than on food.

Brazilian Solar Market in Rapid Expansion

The Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR) projects a historic leap for the sector in 2025, with an additional 13.2 gigawatts (GW) of installed capacity — a 25% increase over the current mark of 51.5 GW. This advancement represents R$ 39.4 billion in investments and approximately 396,000 new jobs created across the country.

The CEO of Sunlife emphasizes the historic moment experienced by the sector:

“We have gone through all the phases of the market since 2015. Now, at Flumisul, we can affirm that solar energy is indeed for everyone, with options that fit every budget and need.”

The State Development Agency of Rio de Janeiro (AgeRIO) has also joined the initiative, offering an exclusive microcredit line with special terms to facilitate family and entrepreneur participation:

  • Financing of up to R$ 21,000, sufficient for any kit;
  • Interest of only 3% per year;
  • Grace period of up to 6 months to start repayments;
  • Immediate credit analysis during the fair;
  • On-site MEI registration facilitated by the Department of Economic Development.

According to Daniel Machado of AgeRIO, the goal is to promote local development through clean energy:

“We will have our team at the Sunlife booth financing those interested in the program. Our role is to promote projects that transform lives and businesses, and Sunlife delivers this with top quality and a solid structure.”

With these conditions, the complete kit priced at R$ 6,930 can be financed with installments lower than the monthly savings provided by the system, making the project self-sustaining from the outset.

Solar Energy Drives Small Businesses and Electric Mobility

The benefits of the program extend beyond households. According to Exame, 83.9% of micro-entrepreneurs who have already adopted photovoltaic systems have significantly reduced their energy costs, and 60% plan to invest even more in renewable sources.

Thiago Reis highlights the direct financial impact:

“A small business with the complete kit can save over R$ 500 monthly on energy, climate control, and gas. This represents one more employee that could be hired or working capital that could be freed up.”

The advancement of electric mobility reinforces the potential of the program. September 2025 recorded 21,515 registered electric and hybrid vehicles, a historic record, according to Motor Show. Today, Brazil already has over 400,000 electrified vehicles, which represents 7% of the national fleet.

For owners of these vehicles, installing solar systems allows them to charge their cars, cook, and climate control their spaces with 100% clean and free energy, after the investment payback period, estimated at 3.3 years, according to ABSOLAR.

Success Stories and Growing Social Impact

The success of the program can already be observed in local examples. Micro-entrepreneur Marli Alves, from Barra Mansa (RJ), installed solar energy in her beauty salon and reduced a monthly bill from R$ 500 to payments lower than the amount saved.

With the new kits, entrepreneurs like her will be able to eliminate costs with energy and gas, in addition to ensuring climate-controlled environments without additional costs. For many, these savings mean the financial stability needed to expand their business.

Beyond the economic impact, the program directly contributes to reducing energy inequality and meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 7 — Affordable and Clean Energy.
