Update Of The Hybrid SUV Reinforces Performance, Electric Range And Charging Time, According To Reports And Investigations About Its Arrival In The Brazilian Market.
The GWM Tank 300 has just received an important update in China, featuring a more powerful plug-in hybrid system, a new battery supplied by CATL, and fast charging in about 16 minutes from 30% to 80% using direct current.
According to a report published by Autoesporte, this updated configuration is expected to reach the Brazilian market starting in 2026, aligning the vehicle sold here with the latest standard of the Asian model.
Currently, the Tank 300 Hi4-T is offered in Brazil as a plug-in hybrid SUV focused on off-road use, combining a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine and an electric motor to deliver 394 hp of combined power and 76.4 kgfm of torque.

Fiat works miracles in the Brazilian market, lowers the price of its 0 km hatch to R$ 69,990, reestablishes the model as the cheapest car in the country, and reignites the battle against Kwid and C3.
The suggested retail price remains around R$ 339,000 on the official brand website, a price that currently applies to the imported version with the previous setup.
Hybrid System Of The Tank 300 Gains More Power
In the recently presented update in China, the focus was on the hybrid system.
The combustion engine continues to be the 2.0 turbo gasoline, but the electric motor has undergone recalibration.
The maximum power of the electric motor increased from about 163 hp to 176 hp, while torque grew from approximately 40.8 kgfm to 50.5 kgfm, according to data released by the Chinese press and also mentioned by Autoesporte when detailing the mechanical changes.
With this revision, the combined power of the plug-in hybrid system rises to 421 hp, a gain of 27 hp compared to the model currently sold in Brazil.

The total torque remains around 750 Nm (76.4 kgfm), maintaining the focus on power for trails, towing, and off-road use.
Even with the increase in power, the basic architecture of the powertrain is maintained.
The Tank 300 continues with a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 traction with a reduction gearbox, in addition to the three electronic differential locks already known to the Brazilian public.
CATL Battery And Fast Charging In 16 Minutes
Another relevant change is in the high-voltage battery.
The updated model now uses a 36.7 kWh module supplied by CATL, a Chinese company that is currently one of the largest automotive battery manufacturers in the world.
Although the capacity is slightly lower than the 37.1 kWh unit used in the current Brazilian version, the energy efficiency has been revised.
With the new setup, the Tank 300 offers up to 105 km of range in 100% electric mode, according to the WLTC cycle adopted in China.
The fast charging has also been optimized.
In the previous model, the estimated time to charge the battery from about 30% to 80% using direct current was around 24 minutes.
With the CATL battery, this interval is reduced to approximately 16 minutes on an appropriate DC charger.
According to Autoesporte’s findings, this gain in efficiency is expected to be one of the differentiators of the future Brazilian version.
In practice, the package promises more frequent use of the electric mode in everyday driving, especially on urban routes.
Dimensions And Design Remain Unchanged

Despite the mechanical changes and the new battery, the exterior design of the Tank 300 remains practically unchanged.
The model continues with a rectangular front grille, round headlights, squared body lines, prominent fenders, and an external spare tire on the tailgate with a side opening.
The dimensions also remain the same as the version already sold in Brazil.
The Tank 300 measures 4.76 meters in length, 1.93 m in width, about 1.90 m in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.75 m.
This maintenance of proportions facilitates the eventual adaptation of the new version to Brazil, as it does not require significant structural changes.
Interior Of The Tank 300 Receives New Steering Wheel And Larger Screens
Inside, the updated Tank 300 features more visible changes for the occupants.
The interior has been redesigned with a new two-spoke steering wheel and a larger, more modern screen set.
The multimedia center now has 14.6 inches, while the digital instrument panel retains the standard of 12.3 inches, now with updated graphics.
In addition to the redesign, the model gains enhancements in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, collision alert with autonomous braking, and blind spot monitoring.
Comfort features are also present, such as seats with power adjustments, soft-touch materials, automatic climate control, a sunroof, full LED headlights, and automatic windshield wipers.
The newspaper Autoesporte also pointed out that these improvements are part of a global strategy to keep the model competitive in markets where GWM is expanding its presence.
Expectations For Launch In Brazil In 2026

In Brazil, the Tank 300 was launched in 2025 already as a plug-in hybrid, with a fully equipped package and a single price of R$ 339,000.
So far, GWM has not officially announced the adoption of the new CATL battery and the 421 hp setup in the Brazilian market.
However, the automaker confirmed a launch offensive for 2026, with at least five new models or versions planned for the country and recent statements indicating up to 12 new offerings in the same year.
Within this context, the arrival of the renewed Tank 300 is treated as a strong candidate to be included in this list, although no official date has been announced.
Today, the Tank 300 positions itself as one of the most powerful hybrid SUVs available in Brazil, combining 4×4 with low range, three differential locks, a ladder frame chassis, and a well-equipped interior.
With the evolution of the hybrid setup to 421 hp, more electric range, and faster charging, the model is likely to strengthen this role in an increasingly competitive segment.
Autoesporte highlighted that the pace of updates from the brand in China usually anticipates what will be offered in Brazil, raising expectations about what consumers will find in dealerships in 2026.
In this scenario of updates in China and the expansion of the brand in Brazil, the big question becomes the impact that a plug-in hybrid SUV with a classic off-road appearance and charging in just 16 minutes could have on Brazilian consumer choices.
