The Chinese automaker Geely EX2 arrives in Brazil with the aim of competing in the compact electric hatchback segment, currently dominated by the BYD Dolphin. The model, which is already among the best-selling electric cars in Asia, bets on aggressive pricing, efficient urban range, and a wide technology package. The brand reinforces its presence in the country with a return to local production in partnership with Renault.
According to the G1 portal, the Geely EX2 arrives in Brazil in two versions: EX2 Pro, priced at R$ 123,800, and EX2 Max, at R$ 136,800. The performance is close to the Dolphin GS, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in about 10 seconds, with adequate speed and comfort for urban use.

Geely EX2 Faces the BYD Dolphin with a More Refined Interior
The main rivalry is with the BYD Dolphin, the best-selling model among electric hatchbacks. The EX2 responds with superior finish, soft-touch materials, and a two-tone cabin. The trunk is also larger, with 375 liters of capacity compared to 250 of the competitor.
Although the battery is smaller (39.4 kWh against 44.9 kWh of the Dolphin GS), the Geely EX2 compensates with a lighter design and a more powerful motor, maintaining similar performance. At 4.1 meters long and 1.5 meters high, the hatch maintains balanced dimensions suitable for urban use, with a wheelbase of 2.65 meters.
Production of the Geely EX2 in Brazil and Expansion Plans
The Geely EX2 arrives in Brazil with logistical support from Renault, using the São José dos Pinhais (PR) plant for local assembly after initial import. This strategy reduces costs and strengthens the brand’s presence in the national territory.
Geely intends to expand its dealership network, which already has 23 stores and sales points in 18 cities, including São Paulo, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Salvador, and Fortaleza. The expectation is to reach 40 dealerships by the end of the year, consolidating the brand among the options for affordable electric cars in Brazil.

The Chinese manufacturer returns with a renewed structure. Today, the group is the owner of Volvo and Lotus, in addition to maintaining a global partnership with Renault through the joint venture Horse, focused on the production of hybrid and combustion engines. The collaboration includes industrial projects in South Korea and Brazil.
This strategic repositioning reinforces the brand’s goal of competing directly with electric and hybrid rivals, consolidating the name Geely among the new technological options in the automotive sector.
The Geely EX2 arrives in Brazil to compete with the BYD Dolphin, offering 289 km of range, refined finishes, and versions that balance performance and cost. National production is expected to boost competitiveness in the electric market.
