Located in Horizonte, in the Metropolitan Area of Fortaleza, the industrial complex will be the first of its kind in the Northeast and is set to begin operations later this year, with the production of the Chevrolet Spark EV, the fully electric model from General Motors.
The project is emerging at a time of strong expansion in the national market for electrified vehicles. By 2025, Brazil is expected to exceed 200,000 registrations of electric and hybrid models, and Ceará has been standing out with a growth rate of over 50% compared to the previous year. The Structure That Shapes the First Automotive Hub in Ceará
The complex has been installed on the site of the former Troller factory, along the BR-116, at kilometer 37, and already has 12 hectares ready for operation, including warehouses, logistics yards, and adaptable assembly lines.

The Ceará differential will be the exclusive focus on clean energy, with the production of electric and hybrid vehicles supported by a green production chain, from battery supply to the development of automotive software.
Job Creation and Regional Development
The implementation of the automotive hub represents a direct boost to the local economy.
In the first phase, more than 250 direct jobs are expected, a number that could reach 9,000 jobs when the complex reaches full capacity.
The initial investment is estimated at R$ 400 million, and the state government is already working to attract auto parts factories and suppliers to consolidate the industrial ecosystem.
In addition to job creation, the project is expected to boost technical training and vocational education in the region.
Courses focused on mechatronics, automotive electrification, and logistics are being structured to meet the new demand from the sector.

With the arrival of General Motors and the start of production of the Chevrolet Spark EV, Ceará becomes a reference in electric mobility in Brazil.
