The Positive Drivers Registry is now active and allows drivers with no fines in the last 12 months to receive benefits such as discounts on tolls, insurance and fees, rewarding those who maintain good driving behavior.
The new Positive Driver Registration has come into operation nationwide and provides a direct incentive for responsible driving. The initiative National Traffic Department (Senatran) recognizes drivers without fines in the last 12 months, allowing them to receive financial advantages and exclusive benefits in various services.
The system, officially called National Positive Driver Registry (RNPC), works as a database that brings together only the drivers with a clean history of infractions. Participation is voluntary and depends on the driver's own authorization. Each month, the registry is automatically updated to keep the list of good drivers up to date.
How the Positive Driver Registry Works
By joining the program, the driver becomes part of the database maintained by Senatran, which informs partner companies and agencies who have maintained exemplary behavior in traffic.

What are the benefits for drivers without fines?
Os drivers without fines can be rewarded in various ways, depending on the agreements signed with companies and state governments. The most common benefits include:
Discounts on tolls and parking, offered by partner highway concessionaires;
Reduction in the value of car insurance, since a good driving record reduces the risk of accidents;
Discounts or exemptions from state fees, such as those for renewing your driver’s license;
Benefits over IPVA, valid in some states such as Amazonas and Rio Grande do Sul;
Special conditions at rental companies and automotive services, such as vehicle maintenance and washing.
The list of benefits is not fixed, since the federal government does not grant direct discounts: they are offered by private companies and public bodies that voluntarily join the program.
Encouraging safety and good conduct on the roads
The central proposal of the Positive Drivers Registry is change the punitive logic of Brazilian traffic, creating a reward system for those who respect the laws.
Just as the driver with infractions is penalized, the exemplary driver now has institutional and economic recognition.
According to Senatran, the program seeks strengthen the culture of road safety, encouraging respect for the rules and reducing the number of accidents caused by recklessness and speeding.
The idea is to turn good behavior into a real advantage, promoting responsibility in traffic in a positive way.
How to know if you are eligible for the benefit
The process is simple: after joining, the driver can check your status directly in the Digital Transit Wallet app, which displays whether the driver is active on the register and whether he meets the requirement of 12 months without infractions.
If a fine is registered during the period, the driver is temporarily removed from the register, being able to return after a new 12-month cycle without fines.
The update occurs monthly, ensuring that the program reflects each participant's real and recent history.
Program Adhesion and Expansion
Although Senatran has not yet released updated data on the number of participants, It is estimated that millions of drivers have already joined since the beginning of implementation in 2022.
States like Amazonas, Mato Grosso do Sul and Rio Grande do Sul have already expanded the scope of the program, creating local versions with additional tax benefits, such as discounts on fees and taxes.
The government's expectation is that membership increases as new private and public partnerships are established, especially with insurance companies, rental companies and highway concessionaires, who are interested in valuing lower risk profiles and good conduct.
The difference between the Positive Driver Registry and the credit registry
Despite the similar name, the Positive Driver Registration is not related to the credit registration.
While the financial registry gathers information about debt payment history, the RNPC focuses exclusively on driver behavior in traffic.
Furthermore, the program it is not automatic: the driver needs to authorize its inclusion, preserving control over the sharing your information.
This conscious adherence is seen as part of the merit of the good driver, reinforcing the voluntary nature of the initiative.

This is nonsense. First, the government doesn't offer any discounts to good drivers when renewing their driver's license or paying their vehicle tax (IPVA). Nothing, no discount whatsoever. There's no satisfactory way to join this program; it needs to improve significantly to be worthwhile.
Discounts should also be given when renewing your driver's license.
