The Central Bank Keeps Over R$ 10.46 Billion in Forgotten Values Awaiting Recovery in the Receivable Values System, Including Money Stopped in Old Accounts, Consortia, Cooperatives, Brokerages, and Even Inheritances from Relatives Not Yet Withdrawn.

According to the Terra Brasil Noticias portal, the Central Bank announced that there are still about R$ 10.46 billion in forgotten resources in financial institutions, awaiting recovery by individuals and businesses. Since the creation of the Receivable Values System, approximately R$ 11.74 billion have been returned, but millions of account holders have not yet checked their available balances. In practice, this means you may have money stopped in old accounts, overcharged fees, or consortia surpluses and not even know it.

A large portion of these values is linked to inactive bank accounts, but the sum also includes resources in consortium administrators, credit cooperatives, brokerages, and payment institutions. Access to the system created by the Central Bank is completely free and even allows for checking values left by deceased individuals, which opens the door for heirs to recover forgotten money from relatives.

How the Central Bank Organizes Forgotten Values

The Receivable Values System is the tool created by the Central Bank to concentrate, in one place, everything that has been forgotten in financial institutions over the years.

Instead of citizens having to search bank by bank, cooperative by cooperative, the SVR gathers the data and shows if there are values in their CPF or CNPJ.

Since May, the system has included an automatic request function. This means that, in many cases, the value is requested and sent directly through the platform itself, without the need to go to the bank or fill out separate forms.

For those far from agencies or with busy routines, this automation has transformed the recovery into a simple and quick process.

What is the Central Bank’s Receivable Values System

The SVR is an official digital portal, managed by the Central Bank, which allows citizens and businesses to check if they have forgotten money and make a request for refund online.

To access the system, you need to have:

  • Gov.br account with silver or gold level
  • Pix key registered with CPF, to expedite credit

Once logged in, the user can see if there are values to be received and, when the participating institution allows it, can request directly.

The goal of the Central Bank is to provide transparency, recover values that would remain abandoned, and facilitate contact between account holders and institutions.

Who Can Recover Money Through the Central Bank System

The Central Bank system is not only for current account holders. The SVR serves:

  • Individuals
  • Businesses
  • Account holders in banks, credit cooperatives, consortia, brokerages, and payment institutions
  • Heirs, executors, or legal representatives of deceased individuals
  • Representatives of dissolved companies

In the case of deceased individuals, the Central Bank allows the recovery request to be made by heirs or legal representatives through Gov.br, with the submission of documents such as the death certificate and statement of responsibility.

For closed companies, the legal representative must digitally sign the term and keep two-step verification active, reinforcing the security of the process.

What Are the Most Common Forgotten Values at the Central Bank

Although the total number is impressive, the Central Bank shows that most accounts have smaller amounts, often completely off the radar of those who left the money stopped. Today, the distribution is as follows:

  • 64 percent of accounts have up to 10 reais
  • 24 percent have between 10.01 and 100 reais
  • 10 percent have between 100.01 and 1,000 reais
  • Only 1.8 percent have more than 1,000 reais

Even so, it is worth checking, because many people discover values from old accounts, refunded fees, or consortia surpluses that were never redeemed.

In some cases, small amounts added together can make a difference in a tight month or provide unexpected relief to the budget.

Step by Step to Check Receivable Values at the Central Bank

To find out if you have forgotten money at the Central Bank, the official path is simple and completely online. Follow the step-by-step using the Receivable Values System:

  1. Visit the official site: valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br
  2. Log in with your Gov.br silver or gold account
  3. Check your data: the system shows if there are values in your name or companies you are responsible for
  4. Request the recovery following the instructions displayed on the screen
  5. Provide your CPF Pix key to expedite payment
  6. Follow the process and wait for the credit within the timeframe provided by the financial institution

For values of deceased individuals, the request is made by the legal representative or heir, with the submission of documents such as the death certificate and proof of relationship.

Everything is done within the Gov.br environment and the Central Bank system, reducing the risks of scams and fake sites.

Most Common Questions About the Central Bank’s SVR

Some questions frequently arise among those starting to look at receivable values from the Central Bank. The main ones are:

  • Can I recover any amount?
Yes. The system informs the exact amount available and allows the request, regardless of the amount.
  • Is the service paid?
No. Consultation and recovery are free on the official Central Bank website.
  • I forgot my Gov.br password. What now?
You must first recover access directly on the Gov.br portal and only then return to the SVR.
  • Can I recover values belonging to others?
Only if you have legal authorization, such as an heir, executor, or representative, presenting the required documentation.
  • What if the company is closed?
The legal representative makes the request in the SVR, signs the statement of responsibility on Gov.br, and follows the system’s guidelines.

Is It Worth Checking the Forgotten Values at the Central Bank?

The numbers from the Central Bank show that billions of reais are still sitting in inactive accounts, old financial products, and forgotten balances.

Even though most of it consists of small amounts, the fact is that this money is yours by right and can be recovered in just a few minutes, directly from your cell phone or computer.

In a tight budget scenario, any extra amount helps, and the SVR has become a practical tool to recover money that would simply be forgotten.

After understanding how the system works, the important question remains: have you checked if you have receivable values at the Central Bank or are you still leaving that money stopped without knowing?
