But be careful: applications are open until the end of October, so it’s time to hurry!
What Courses Are Available?
UFJF offers slots for teaching degrees in areas such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Education, and Pedagogy.
These degrees will be taught in the distance learning (EaD) format, with support from physical hubs linked to the Open University of Brazil (UAB).
The physical hubs for graduation are spread across several cities in Minas Gerais, such as Andrelândia, Barão de Cocais, Lavras, Sete Lagoas, among others.
This allows students to follow classes and activities remotely while having nearby in-person support close to their residence.
Who Can Apply?
The selection process has two categories of application:
- General Public: In this category, candidates are assessed based on their academic performance in Portuguese and Mathematics, according to their high school records. 80% of the slots are reserved for this category.
- Public School Teachers: Teachers who already work in the public system but do not hold a degree or work in areas different from their training are entitled to 20% of the slots. To participate, proof of affiliation with the public education system and registration on the Freire Platform is required. In this case, the tie-breaking criterion will be length of service and age.
How Do Applications Work?
Applications are already open and will run until October 30, 2024. The entire process is carried out online through the website of the General Coordination of Selection Processes (Copese) at UFJF.
During the application, candidates must fill out a form and generate the Union Collection Guide (GRU), in the amount of R$ 150.00, which must be paid by the end of the deadline.
Those wishing to request a waiver of the application fee can do so between October 7 and 11.
The result of the fee waiver requests will be announced on October 21, and candidates must stay alert not to miss this deadline.
When Will the Result Be Announced?
The final result of the selection process will be announced on November 26, 2024, on the Copese website.
Approved candidates will need to keep track of all registration information on the website of the Academic Affairs and Records Coordination (Cdara), where the necessary documents and the deadline for enrollment will be published.
Classes are expected to start in the first semester of 2025.
Why Is This an Unmissable Opportunity?
Studying at a prestigious institution like UFJF while having the flexibility of distance learning is an advantage that few can pass up.
Moreover, EaD allows students to balance their studies with other responsibilities, such as work and family, without compromising the quality of education.
For teachers, this is also an excellent opportunity to update or complete their training, meeting the requirements of their field and ensuring greater professional security in the future.
Don’t miss the chance to take a leap in your career without having to invest financially in a college education.
