Simple, Cheap, And Easy-To-Maintain Cars Show How It’s Still Possible To Avoid High Expenses In 2025 And Find Reliable Used Cars Without Surprises

Even with the heated market in 2025, it’s still possible to find reliable used cars for up to R$ 15,000.

Popular compact cars remain the right choice for those looking to spend little, avoid headaches, and maintain practicality in their daily lives.

These models stand out for their simple mechanics, low fuel consumption, and the ease of finding parts anywhere in the country.

They are cars that have crossed generations without losing their reputation for durability.

Some prioritize maximum economy.

Others deliver an interesting balance between urban performance and comfort.

For this reason, they cater to everyone from those who use the car every day to small families that need a reliable vehicle.

Several of them also marked an era in Brazil.
The Gol G2 became a symbol of the 1990s.
The Celta gained ground as one of the most reliable entry-level hatches.
And the Peugeot 206 brought to Brazil a European design different from everything that existed at the time.

Below, you can check out the six models that continue to offer low prices, durability, and affordable maintenance, considering average market values in 2025.

Peugeot 206 — starting at R$ 7,900

Launched in 2001, the Peugeot 206 arrived with modern lines and several body options: three-door hatch, five-door hatch, and even the 206+ sedan version.

It offered 1.0, 1.4, and 1.6 engines, always accompanied by a five-speed manual transmission.

The 1.6 engine, with up to 110 hp, balanced performance and fuel consumption well, running about 9 km/l in the city with gasoline.

Versions like XS and Soleil still featured power steering and air conditioning, something valued in the segment.

Today, it’s still possible to find units for around R$ 7,900, provided they are well cared for and have up-to-date maintenance.

Chevrolet Celta — starting at R$ 9,900

Produced since 2000, the Chevrolet Celta established its reputation as an accessible, practical, and economical entry-level hatch.
Measuring 3.65 m in length, it became one of the easiest models to park and maneuver in city traffic.

With a 1.0 engine of up to 70 hp and a manual transmission, the average consumption was around 13 km/l on the highway and 10 km/l in the city.
In the current market, there are examples priced between R$ 9,900 and R$ 15,000 that remain reliable for daily use — provided they have been recently serviced.

Volkswagen Gol G2 — starting at R$ 9,900

The famous “Gol bolinha,” produced between 1994 and 1999, is one of Volkswagen’s biggest symbols in Brazil.
Its reputation for mechanical robustness and simple maintenance keeps it valued even after decades.

The 1.0 Mi and Special versions achieved up to 12 km/l on the highway and 9 km/l in the city.
Moreover, they could handle high mileage when preventive maintenance was done correctly.

Well-preserved units still exist for around R$ 9,900, but it’s essential to check the suspension and brakes in vehicles with over 20 years of use.

Ford Fiesta — starting at R$ 12,000

The third generation of the Ford Fiesta gained traction for combining fuel economy, good handling, and interior comfort.
Equipped with 1.0 and 1.6 Zetec Rocam engines, as well as a five-speed manual transmission, it proved to be a reliable hatch for urban use.

The 1.6 engine registered about 11 km/l in the city and 14 km/l on the highway.
Models from 2003 to 2007 offer features such as power steering, power locks, and, in some versions, air conditioning.

Prices start around R$ 12,000 for well-preserved examples.

Fiat Palio — starting at R$ 14,500

Between 2004 and 2010, the Fiat Palio entered one of its most praised phases, with 1.0 and 1.4 flex engines.
This period marked the model as a reference for low cost, simple mechanics, and efficient fuel consumption.

The 1.0 engine managed to achieve 12 km/l in the city and 15 km/l on the highway.
More equipped versions offered power steering, power windows, and air conditioning.
The units with the Fire engine, produced from 2008, are the most recommended — starting at R$ 14,500.

Chevrolet Classic — starting at R$ 15,000

Derived from the Corsa Sedan, the Chevrolet Classic won many Brazilian families over with its practical and economical proposal.
With a 1.0 engine, manual transmission, and a 390-liter trunk, it became one of the most accessible options among compact sedans.

It averages 12 km/l in the city and 14 km/l on the highway, with simple and cheap maintenance.
In 2025, good examples start at R$ 15,000, provided the maintenance history is up to date.
