Yamaha has decided to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the TMAX with a special edition of the scooter that has become a reference in the sport segment in Europe.
Named the TMAX 25th Anniversary, this new model retains the 560 cm³ mechanical set and 48 hp, adds a complete electronic package with a 7-inch TFT display, integrated Garmin navigation, and dual 267 mm disc brakes at the front, and will be offered for just one year in the European market.
Since 2001, the TMAX family has accumulated more than 340,000 units sold in the region, establishing the model as one of the brand’s most successful products in the category.

History and Legacy of the Yamaha TMAX
Launched in the early 2000s, the TMAX helped to create the concept of sport scooter, by combining daily-use ergonomics with performance close to that of a mid-sized motorcycle.
Upon completing a quarter century of journey, Yamaha opted for a commemorative edition that pays direct tribute to the generations responsible for this reputation, without altering the technical foundation already known to consumers.
The 25th Anniversary version was presented by Yamaha Motor Europe and is currently treated as a product aimed at the European public.
The model will have production linked to the 2026 model year, with availability expected only during this period.
Design Inspired by the TMAX Black MAX 2006
The main difference of the special edition lies in the design inspired by the Black MAX 2006, one of the most notable TMAX models in the line.
The bodywork features a matte dark gray metallic paint, while the side fairings in a boomerang shape appear in a lighter gray tone.
The seat, one of the most striking elements of the set, comes in red, with visible double stitching and a commemorative logo embossed.
The motorcycle also features 3D TMAX badges, an anodized engine cover, and black machined alloy wheels with contrasting edges.
Even with the nostalgic appeal, the design follows the latest lines of the TMAX, with an aggressive front, modern optics, and fairings that channel air towards the rider and the engine.
560 cm³ Engine and Performance
Although the design has been reworked, Yamaha has maintained the mechanical base of the current line.
The TMAX 25th Anniversary retains the parallel twin engine of 560 cm³, four-stroke, with liquid cooling and compliant with the EURO5+ standard, calibrated to deliver 48 hp of power.
The engine generates 56 Nm of torque at 5,250 rpm, ensuring quick accelerations and vigorous recoveries in urban and highway use.
The transmission remains automatic CVT, with a V-belt, eliminating the need for gear changes.
The rider can choose between two riding modes, Sport and Touring, which alter power delivery and throttle response.
Chassis, Suspension, and Brakes of the TMAX
In terms of cycling, the model continues based on a cast aluminum chassis, associated with an upside-down fork in the front and a long rear swingarm.
This combination offers greater structural stiffness and stability at higher speeds, bringing the riding experience closer to that of a traditional motorcycle.
The brakes use two 267 mm discs at the front, in addition to a 282 mm disc at the rear, with ABS as standard.
The 15-inch wheels, with wide tires, complement the set.
TFT Display and Garmin Integration
In the electronic package, the TMAX 25th Anniversary features a 7-inch color TFT display, with three user-configurable display modes.
The screens can prioritize the speedometer and rev counter, highlight trip information, or emphasize navigation data.
Connectivity includes the Yamaha MyRide app, which integrates the smartphone with the scooter, records routes, and displays consumption data.
The system is also compatible with Garmin Motorize, providing turn-by-turn navigation and information on traffic, weather, and points of interest.
Comfort and Practicality for Daily Use
The TMAX project has always considered comfort one of the model’s pillars.
The scooter retains the adjustable backrest for the rider, allowing for distance adjustment from the handlebars.
The ergonomic seat provides thigh and lumbar support, favoring longer trips.
Under the seat, there is an illuminated compartment, capable of holding one full-face helmet or two open-face helmets.
Another feature retained is the Smart Key system, which allows the engine to be started and the seat opened without a physical key.
Yamaha also offers original accessories specific to the 25th Anniversary edition, including comfort items, luggage, and aesthetic components.
In countries like Germany, the suggested price is around 14,449 euros, positioning the model in the premium category of mid-displacement scooters.
For now, the TMAX 25th Anniversary is only announced by Yamaha’s European division.
