The group expanded its operations with the installation of the biodiesel plant in the city of Porangatu (GO), located in the far north of Goiás.

The biodiesel plant project was contemplated in two stages. The first stage is the biodiesel and glycerin plant. In total, more than R$ 200 million were invested in the entire industrial complex.

Boosting The Development Of The Region

Close to the final phase of implementation, on Tuesday (07/28) of last year, the company received the visit of the Governor of the State, Ronaldo Caiado, at the Porangatu plant. On that occasion, the Governor signed the authorization granting tax incentives to Olfar. Considered a priority for the investment attraction program for Goiás, Olfar is the first industry to receive this incentive. The goal of Caiado’s government is to industrialize the most vulnerable regions of the state, enhancing development, job creation, income, and quality of life.

José Carlos Weschenfelder, President of Olfar, took the opportunity to emphasize that the installation of Olfar’s plant in Porangatu would stimulate the development of the entire region. “The project will bring to this entire northern region of the state a fantastic economic movement, promoting regional development of grain production and also generating jobs, both direct and indirect,” said the President.
