The group expanded its operations with the installation of a biodiesel plant in the city of Porangatu (GO), located in the extreme north of Goiás.

The biodiesel plant project was contemplated with two stages. The first step is the biodiesel and glycerin plant. With full production capacity of more than 1.800.000 liters of biodiesel per day, the plant began its operations in September last year. In total, more than R$ 200 million were invested in the entire industrial park.

Driving the development of the region

Close to the final implementation phase, on Tuesday (28/07) last year, the company received a visit from the State Governor Ronaldo Caiado at the Porangatu plant. On the occasion, the Governor signed the authorization granting tax incentives to Olfar. Considered a priority for the investment attraction program for Goiás, Olfar is the first industry to receive this incentive. The Caiado government's goal is to industrialize the most vulnerable regions of the state, boosting development, job creation, income and quality of life.

José Carlos Weschenfelder, President of Olfar, took the opportunity to reinforce that the installation of the Olfar plant in Porangatu would boost the development of the entire region. “The project will bring to the entire northern region of the state a fantastic economic movement, regional development of grain production and also the generation of jobs, not only direct, but also indirect”, said the President.
