Crater of 14 Meters Opens in Front of Resident’s House in Minas Gerais, Revealing Historical Gold Mine of Approximately 300 Years.
Remember this incredible story that happened on February 5, 2022! A surprising discovery for mining on Maestro Joaquim Aniceto Street, in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais. Andrea was walking peacefully when, suddenly, the ground opened right in front of her house, and the crater revealed a gold mine approximately 300 years old!
Firefighters and cave specialists were called in and found an abandoned gold deposit in the hole, a historical relic of at least 300 years that had been right beneath the feet of the residents of Ouro Preto all this time. The mine will be thoroughly analyzed and then cataloged.

The Civil Defense of the local conducted an inspection where the cavity, approximately 14 meters wide, appeared in front of Andrea’s residence.

After China, it’s now the turn of the USA to ‘secure’ a share of Brazil’s natural resources: the country buys critical rare earths for R$ 3 billion and enters the center of the global technology dispute.

Rare earths are in everything, from cell phones to bullet trains, and what almost no one realizes is why they have become the target of such a delicate global war.

Historic bankruptcy of Centauro shocks the market, and the century-old company puts more than 500,000 products, machines, and complete infrastructure up for online auction.

Brazil extracts 26.3 million tons of ore from what was previously treated as waste, transforming residues into wealth, producing over 3 million tons of sand, and demonstrating how national mining is relearning to generate value.
Also present at the site, accompanied by the Civil Defense and the firefighters, was Professor Hernani Mota from Ufop, a Mining Engineer and specialist in mapping underground mines in the city.
After analysis by Professor Luiz Henrique Cardoso, a geologist at UFOP, it was concluded that the residence is built on a rock more resistant than the one that collapsed and is not at risk of falling.ore
The recommendation is that the cavity be filled with rocks outside of the rainy season, and that other works be carried out to ensure the safety of the residents. In the meantime, the site should remain under monitoring.ore
Pyrite, the Shiny Yellow Mineral Known as “Fool’s Gold” for Deceiving the Less Experienced, Can Make Fools Rich!
It seems that “fool’s gold” has not yet finished revealing its many secrets. In recent decades, pyrite (fool’s gold) has been the target of advanced testing and deep dive investigations. The discovery made in June of “a third unrecognized way real gold may lurk inside pyrite” could change how gold is extracted.ore
The mineral pyrite was first called “fool’s gold” when less experienced prospectors believed this shiny yellow material was real gold. During the California gold rush, prospectors were indeed correct in their assumption that they would never profit from mining pyrite – there was no way to squeeze anything useful out of that mineral.
When faced with iron disulfide (FeS²), for prospectors in the 1840s, this meant they had more searching to do. It’s better than dirt and stone, but still not worth keeping.
I would love to know if you remember this discovery of the gold deposit in Minas Gerais. Let us know in the comments section. Don’t forget to leave 5 stars and activate CPG notifications to keep up with all the news from the mining world. Until next time!
