To clarify the dynamics of the death in the public pool, the Civil Police requested forensic examinations from the Criminalistics Institute (IC) and the Medical Legal Institute (IML).

Investigators consider these reports essential to determine whether adequate prevention measures or rapid response could have prevented the drowning.
91st Precinct Takes Over the Investigation of the Case
The 91st Police District (Ceasa) registered the occurrence and is officially conducting the inquiry.
From now on, investigators will interview witnesses, staff, and those responsible for the Lapa Sports Center.
Additionally, investigators may review security camera footage and internal records of the public space.
The investigation aims to verify whether trained professionals were present to monitor the pool and whether the teams called for assistance in a timely manner.
