Amazon Announced 6,500 Temporary Positions in Various Areas. Learn More About How to Apply and Secure an Opportunity

With the arrival of the year-end holidays and the increase in online shopping, Amazon announced it will hire 6,500 temporary employees in Brazil. This measure aims to strengthen operations during Black Friday and Christmas, times of higher sales volume. The initiative represents an 8% growth in hires compared to last year.

According to Daniel Mazini, president of Amazon Brazil, this increase is directly related to the company’s logistics expansion in the country. “We are adding 80 logistics hubs in 2024, expanding our service capacity,” Mazini stated. Currently, Amazon Brazil operates with 10 distribution centers and over 100 delivery stations, spread across various regions.

Positions Available for Hires

The temporary positions cover various essential functions for the operation of Amazon, including:

  • Sorting merchandise and checking orders;
  • Inventory control and product organization;
  • Repair and maintenance of operational equipment;
  • Issuing invoices and shipping products.

These functions are fundamental to ensuring speed and efficiency in deliveries, especially during peak demand periods.

How to Apply

Although Amazon has not yet released details for the official opening of temporary positions, interested individuals can follow opportunities on the company’s official website. The page is frequently updated with new positions, both temporary and permanent.

Amazon in Brazil

Launched in 2012, Amazon Brazil began its operations selling only digital books and promoting the Kindle e-reader. However, over the years, the company expanded its catalog to include a wide variety of products. Today, consumers can find everything from electronics and fashion to food items and home decor.

With the introduction of the Amazon Prime service, the company has further solidified its position in the Brazilian market. Benefits include free shipping on thousands of products, access to Prime Video, Amazon Music, and exclusive advantages in games and digital books.

The logistics expansion in Brazil has been one of the company’s main focuses. The goal is to improve delivery times and compete more aggressively with local players. Additionally, Amazon has been attracting more Brazilian sellers to its platform, offering logistics and advertising solutions that broaden the reach of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Impact on the Economy and Job Creation

The hiring of temporary workers by Amazon reinforces the positive impact of e-commerce on the Brazilian economy. With the growing demand for fast deliveries and the popularity of Black Friday in Brazil, these positions represent an important opportunity for workers seeking extra income at year-end.

Although temporary, these opportunities may also open doors for permanent hires, as the company frequently identifies talent among temporary workers for permanent positions.

Amazon Brazil continues to invest in technology and logistics to enhance the consumer experience, but the highlight of this year-end will be the temporary workforce, which will play a crucial role in operations.

With a constantly evolving market and increasingly demanding consumers, Amazon establishes itself as one of the leaders in e-commerce in Brazil, bringing innovation and contributing to job creation in the country.
