ArcelorMittal Will Start Hiring for 920 Temporary Positions for Pollution Reduction Projects. Hiring Begins Soon

ArcelorMittal Tubarão will open 920 temporary job positions for mechanical professionals, electricians, welders, boilermakers, and refractory bricklayers. The hired workers will participate in environmental projects for pollution reduction and the implementation of the seawater desalination plant.

The companies ThyssenKrupp and RIP will be responsible for the projects and will carry out the hiring. 700 temporary positions will be allocated for the construction of the coke battery. The steel company emphasizes that priority will be given to residents of the municipality of Serra.

ArcelorMittal reported that the seawater desalination project will generate 220 positions, with 160 direct labor jobs (civil works and assembly) and 8 in-house employees for operation and maintenance. For this stage, hiring will be done by Fluence, the company that won the tender for supplying and assembling the plant.

The company also aims to enhance opportunities for local businesses through Findes and Ases. The expectation is that the projects will commence in April of this year.

Positions: 220, including 160 direct labor hires and 8 in-house employees.
Roles: civil works and electromechanical.
