Bahia Gains New Wind Turbine Blade Factory From One of the World’s Largest Renewable Manufacturers, Expected to Create 1,700 Jobs in the Coming Years

With The End Of The International Mission, Bahia Governor Guarantees New Wind Turbine Blade Enterprise That Promises To Generate New Jobs And Income For The State    

After concluding his international mission in countries such as Germany, Kazakhstan, and the Czech Republic, the governor of Bahia state, Rui Costa, met on Thursday (28) with Sinoma, a major Chinese company that is a global leader in construction materials and glass, as well as one of the largest manufacturers of equipment for wind energy production in the world. During the meeting, various details were discussed regarding the implementation of a factory for wind turbine blades in Bahia. Wind turbine blades are primarily responsible for generating clean and renewable electric energy from the rotation caused by the winds.

Initial Proposal Includes Wind Farm Of 35 Thousand Square Meters

According to the governor of Bahia, the initial proposal is to implement a facility of about 35 thousand square meters, along with the installation of four production lines for blades, in Camaçari, to meet national and international demand.

Initially, it is estimated that around 500 jobs will be generated, potentially reaching 1,200, depending on the expansion that will take place three years after the factory’s startup. Rui Costa participated in a videoconference with the company’s executives at their Chinese headquarters and also at their office in Brazil, in São Paulo.

The governor of Bahia made himself available and offered all necessary support for the project to be implemented. Rui stated that it is of utmost interest to have the wind turbine blade factory established in Bahia and that only a few details remain for the project to be finalized. Rui concluded by saying that the State will provide total support to ensure everything happens as quickly as possible.

Partnership Between Bahia And China Promises To Further Boost The Renewable Energy Market In Brazil

The wind turbine blade factory in Camaçari, in the metropolitan region of Salvador, will be the first of its kind that the company will establish outside of China. Bahia was chosen because it has all the necessary conditions for the installation of such an important facility, including suitable land, logistical infrastructure for roads, and ports. There are already several wind farms in the state of Bahia, which has led to increased employment and economic activity in the state.

Other Important Partnerships Between Bahia And Foreign Countries

Rui Costa also secured some scientific partnerships with a cancer treatment institute and the Czech Technical University, aimed at creating a connection between healthcare professionals for experience sharing and training. After 12 days of international mission, the governor of Bahia considered his journey in search of more partnerships for the state to be positive.

According to Rui, the international mission was a very laborious period where they literally sold Bahia’s potential in an effort to attract new investments.

Additionally, the governor concluded by stating that he was able to demonstrate that the state of Bahia has the best conditions and the best workers in Brazil to operate such enterprises and that the state is fully open to productive initiatives that can generate new jobs and income, improving the quality of life for the people of Bahia.
