The Transformation Project of the Waterfront of Balneário Camboriú, with an Initial Investment of R$ 1 Million, Promises to Redefine the Infrastructure of the City, Improving Urban Mobility and the Quality of Life of Residents and Tourists, and Strengthening the Position of the City as a Top-Tier Tourist Destination.

The city of Balneário Camboriú, one of the most valued destinations in Brazil, has initiated an ambitious revitalization project for its waterfront. After a significant widening of the beachfront in 2021, the city is now focusing on transforming the waterfront into a high-quality space for residents and tourists. The project, carried out in a public-private partnership, promises to reshape the face of the city with urban innovations and infrastructure improvements.

The revitalization project of the waterfront of Balneário Camboriú complements the beach widening works, completed in less than two years. This widening project, one of the largest works in Latin America at the time, had already significantly transformed the city’s profile.

Restructuring and Improvement of the Waterfront

Now, the focus is on the restructuring and improvement of the waterfront, extending over more than 6 km. The project, divided into about 18 to 19 sections, includes the creation of linear parks, integrating green and urban areas, and the remodeling of kiosks. The initiative aims not only to beautify the waterfront but also to make it more functional and accessible.

One of the highlights of the project is the implementation of a dedicated bus lane and the restructuring of sidewalks, which promises to significantly improve urban mobility. The revitalization also includes the installation of benches, playgrounds, outdoor gyms, and areas for sports such as volleyball, tennis, and soccer.

Construction of the Complete Infrastructure

Of course, the waterfront of Balneário Camboriú will feature the construction of a modern lighting system, all in LED, and more than 200 security cameras, ensuring safety and comfort for visitors. The electrical infrastructure will be underground, contributing to the aesthetics and safety of the area.

The project is financed through public-private partnerships, where the municipality negotiates construction permits with local construction companies in exchange for the execution of sections of the project. The investment in the first section of the work is estimated at around R$ 1 million.

This project is part of a series of initiatives that Balneário Camboriú has been adopting to establish itself as one of the main tourist destinations in Brazil. The expectation is that the revitalization of the waterfront will attract even more visitors to the city, in addition to significantly improving the quality of life for residents.
