Bamboo houses were about 15 kilometers from the epicenter
The set that withstood the earthquake had been built for people who were already displaced by internal conflicts in Myanmar. According to the Blue Temple press kit, 26 houses were installed approximately 15 kilometers from the epicenter when the 7.7 magnitude tremor struck the Mandalay region. Housing NOW began in 2019 within Blue Temple as a research project focused on ways to produce affordable housing using materials available in the country. The office claims it sought to start from the material conditions of Myanmar rather than simply importing international models of emergency shelter.

The technical sheet released in 2025 recorded 79 units built, including housing and structures for displaced communities.
