More than a thousand free positions in technical courses at Ifes are open for different profiles of students, with opportunities in 13 campuses, selection without exams in most cases, and options in strategic areas of the job market.

With more than a thousand positions open for the second semester of 2026, the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo expands access to free technical education, catering to different profiles of students and prioritizing modalities with simplified selection based on academic performance.

The majority of the opportunities are concentrated in concomitant and subsequent courses, which total 884 positions with selection based on academic history analysis, without exams, while the integrated model maintains objective evaluation and the EJA modality adopts a lottery system.

In addition to serving those who wish to start technical training while still in high school, the announcements also cater to candidates who have already completed this stage and individuals over 18 years old seeking to resume studies with professional qualification.

The deadlines vary according to the announcement, with applications open until April 30, 2026 for integrated and concomitant or subsequent courses, while the EJA modality accepts candidates until June 10, 2026.

Ifes positions in technical courses without exams

Concentrating the largest volume of opportunities, the Announcement 20/2026 brings together concomitant and subsequent courses distributed across 13 campuses, with in-person and distance options that expand the territorial reach of the technical training offered by the institute.

Within this announcement, there are 474 positions for students still attending high school and another 410 aimed at those who have already completed this stage, forming a total of 884 opportunities in areas with constant demand in the job market.

Among the available courses, notable formations include:

  • Logistics
  • Mechanics
  • Industrial Automation
  • Computer Science
  • Gastronomy
  • Chemistry
  • Occupational Safety
  • Geoprocessing

In addition to these options, there are also positions in courses such as Commerce, Electrotechnics, Construction, Metallurgy, Ports, Mining, Coffee Cultivation, and Educational Multimedia, with variable distribution according to the campus and chosen modality.

One of the main attractions of this selection process lies in the classification format, as candidates are evaluated by analysis of academic history, eliminating the need for a physical exam and making access more direct.

To participate, it is necessary to pay a registration fee of R$ 30, a lower amount than that charged in other announcements, which can be reduced to zero for candidates who meet the exemption criteria set forth.

Integrated courses with high school at Campus Serra

Aimed at those who intend to take high school alongside technical training, the Announcement 19/2026 concentrates its positions at Campus Serra, offering 72 opportunities divided between Internet Computing and Mechatronics.

Each of the courses has 36 positions, maintaining a balance between the offered areas and reinforcing the focus on technological training aligned with the industrial and digital demands present in the state.

Unlike other modalities, the selection occurs through an objective exam, scheduled for June 14, 2026, covering content from Portuguese Language, Mathematics, Sciences, History, and Geography.

Although the registration deadline also ends on April 30, this announcement requires a payment of R$ 85, a higher amount than that applied in concomitant and subsequent courses.

While the integrated format requires full dedication at the institute itself, the concomitant model allows the student to maintain enrollment in another school, while the subsequent model serves exclusively those who have already completed high school.

EJA at Ifes: positions for youth and adults in Vitória

Directed at an audience that interrupted their educational journey, the Announcement 21/2026 offers 120 positions at Campus Vitória, distributed among technical courses that directly engage with service and industry sectors.

The opportunities are organized among Tourism Guide, Metallurgy, and Occupational Safety, with 40 positions for each formation, ensuring balanced distribution among areas with different professional profiles.

Eligible candidates are those over 18 years old who have completed elementary school but have not finished high school, a profile that concentrates a large part of the demand for educational resumption in the country.

In this case, registrations are free and must be done in person until June 10, 2026, eliminating financial and digital barriers that could hinder access to the selection process.

The classification occurs through a public lottery, scheduled for June 19, 2026, a model that dispenses with formal evaluation and broadens the possibility of entry for candidates with interrupted educational trajectories.

Quota system and social criteria

In all announcements, Ifes adopts an inclusion policy through reservation of positions for affirmative actions, allocating at least half of the opportunities to students from public schools.

The criteria include family income, self-declaration of ethnic-racial identity, and reservation for people with disabilities, forming a model that seeks to expand access to public technical education.

Additionally, there is provision for exemption from the registration fee for candidates in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability, provided they meet the requirements established in the announcement.

The period to request the exemption occurs between April 1 and 23, 2026, requiring attention to the schedule to avoid losing the benefit.

How to register at Ifes

To ensure participation, the candidate must access the official Ifes website and select the announcement corresponding to the desired course, carefully observing the criteria of each modality and the documents required in the process.

In the case of integrated courses and the concomitant and subsequent modalities, the registration deadline is until April 30, 2026, while the EJA requires in-person attendance at Campus Vitória until June 10, 2026.

Those opting for integrated high school will take an exam on June 14, while EJA candidates will participate in a lottery on June 19, according to the schedule released by the institution.

All details about the distribution of positions, required documentation, and stages of the selection process are available in the official announcements published by the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo.
