BMW brings to the automotive market its new BMW i5 M60 with more than 600 hp. BMW's new car is fully electric and delivers 391 km of autonomy.

The new 5% electric BMW i60 M100 arrives in Brazil before the hybrid version for R$759.950 and with a 601 horsepower engine. The new BMW car, which has a range of 391 km in the PBEV cycle, is a series of 14 launches by the brand until the end of 2024. Visually, the BMW i5 M60 preserves the brand's classic design standard, combined with the sportiness of the division M.

The BMW i5 M60 sedan measures 5,06 meters in length, being 97 mm larger than the previous generation, 1,90 meters in width, being 32 mm wider than the previous one and 36 mm taller than its predecessor with 1,51 .20 meters. The wheelbase grew by 2,99 mm and reached 20 meters. The wheels are XNUMX inches with a sporty finish. The interior features the Shy Tech concept, which is also in the iX.

With the BMW sedan it is possible to control multimedia actions by gestures and voice. The instrument panel is 12,3 inches and 14,9 inches for the multimedia center that has integrated GPS and connection with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The new all-electric BMW i5 car features some equipment from the i7 such as the level 3 autonomous system with adaptive cruise control, a system that allows the BMW i5 M60 to stay on the track without driver input, cross traffic control, among other functions. The sedan also has a 665-watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system, Alexa, among others.

New BMW car can reach 230 km/h

The BMW i5 M60 is equipped with an engine with 601 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque. According to the automaker, it is possible to do 0 to 100 km/h in just 3,8 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 230 km/h. 

BMW equipped the electric i5 M60 with an 81,2 kWh battery, which allows it to be driven for 391 km in the PBVE cycle. According to the German brand, in a fast recharge it is possible to go from 10% to 80% in 31 minutes. A 22 kW wallbox can be recharged in 4 hours.

The new BMW sedan will be sold in the i5 M60 version with ten color options: Alpine White, Sapphire Black, Carbon Black, Mineral White, Sophisto Gray, Phytonic Blue, Brooklyn Gray, Oxide Gray, Cape York Green and Fire Red and three options interior trim in Black Merino Leather, Cooper and Silverstone.

What it's like to drive the new BMW i5 M60?

It's not enough to have 600 horsepower, it's necessary to be responsible when deploying this power and helping the driver maintain control of the machine, even when the foot sinks on the accelerator. And in this the BMW i5 M60 is extremely competent.

And more: all this without sacrificing comfort when driving on the bad asphalt of most Brazilian streets. The merit of the well-calibrated air suspension, which guarantees an excellent compromise in different driving modes.

Regeneration is defined by the touchscreen: in addition to adaptive regeneration, there are high, medium and low levels. In normal use, the adaptive option works well and can anticipate traffic conditions to optimize efficiency. It is worth mentioning that the driving assistant acts precisely and without being invasive: it is always nearby but does not bother the driver with sudden interventions, which is very pleasing.
