When questioned about a possible replacement at the helm of Petrobras, President Bolsonaro responded to TV Ponta Nega, aired on Wednesday, that “There is this possibility.” “Everyone in the government – ministers, secretaries, company directors, state-owned presidents – can be replaced if they are not doing their job satisfactorily. So it doesn’t mean someone will be changed or not. I just cannot replace the Vice President of the Republic; everyone else can obviously be replaced for reasons of productivity, failure, or omission in their respective service,” added President Jair Bolsonaro.
According to Exame, President Bolsonaro returned to criticism of Petrobras due to the increase in fuel prices, where Petrobras raised gasoline by 18.8% and diesel by 24.9%. According to Bolsonaro, he is awaiting a response from Petrobras to review the prices that were absurdly raised last week.

Increase in Fuel Prices
The surge in oil prices reflects on the pockets of Brazilians. Petrobras announced on Thursday (03/10) new adjustments to the prices of gasoline, diesel, and cooking gas. The new increase comes after nearly 2 months of frozen values at the state-owned refineries. According to Abicon, even with the new adjustment, gasoline and diesel remain underpriced compared to the prices practiced in the international market.
The average price of gasoline for distributors will rise from R$ 3.25 to R$ 3.86 per liter, which is an increase of 18.8%. In the case of diesel, the average price per liter will be adjusted from R$ 3.61 to R$ 4.51, representing a rise of 24.9%.
In the case of GLP (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), more commonly known as cooking gas, there will be an adjustment of 16.1%, where the price per kg will rise from R$ 3.86 to R$ 4.48, equivalent to R$ 58.21 for 13 kg.
Bolsonaro Launches Criticism at Petrobras and Government Authorizes the Ministry of Mines and Energy to Warn Stations Not Following Fuel Price Reductions Approved by Congress
The president continues with sharp comments regarding Petrobras’s announcement of fuel price increases. The state-owned company claims that, contrary to what the government says, the adjustments were necessary. Last Saturday, March 12, the Government stated that it would ask the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, to warn fuel stations that remain with the price disclosed by Petrobras. The stations must lower the prices charged at the pumps after the change in taxes voted and approved by Congress. To learn more, check out this article in full by clicking here.
