Caged exposed positive reports on the morning of the 23rd at the Ministry of Economy, more than 529.553 Work Booklets were signed last year after 3 years in the red

General Register of Employed and Unemployed People (Caged) released encouraging numbers that surpassed the results of the last 3 years of employability in Brazil. With more than 529.553 formal jobs created and registered in the Employment Card, the numbers reflect the recovery of the country's economy, with the data presented by the Ministry of Economy on Wednesday (23).

In practical terms, there were more hires than layoffs during the entire period of last year.

  • Hiring: 15.384.283
  • Dismissals: 14.854.729

The difference may seem insignificant, but since the beginning of the crisis and economic recession in 2014, no positive numbers have been found, with a peak of 420,6 formal jobs. Take a look at the negative balances of recent years:

  • 2015: -1,542 million
  • 2016: -1.321 million
  • 2017: -20.832 (small improvement, but still negative)

The sector that led in the generation of jobs in 2018 was the SERVICES modality, with 398 new jobs created.

In the order of the 4 largest cities with the best performance, São Paulo continues in the lead with 146 jobs created, Minas with 81,9 thousand, Santa Catarina 41,7 thousand and Paraná, with 40,2 thousand.

The states of Mato Grosso do Sul, Acre, Roraima and Alagoas had the worst performance, with more layoffs than creation of opportunities.
