Under the new YangWang brand, the automaker has revealed several unique models, with the U7 being the highlight among them.
The BYD YangWang U7 is a sedan that measures 5.26 meters in length and features a lithium iron phosphate battery of 135.5 kWh, standing out for its extended autonomy.
Manufactured by the subsidiary FinDreams, the battery accounts for nearly one-third of the vehicle’s total weight, which reaches 3,095 kg.
Additionally, the electric car features four electric motors, delivering a total power output of 960 kW, equivalent to 1,305 hp, and ensures a top speed of 270 km/h.
With exemplary aerodynamics, the YangWang U7 has a drag coefficient of just 0.195, surpassing renowned competitors in the global market.
BYD plans to launch the YangWang brand in Europe in the coming years, with the possibility of exporting the U8 SUV, while the future of the U7 remains uncertain.
At the moment, the automaker already offers a variety of models in Europe, including the Dolphin hatchback and the Atto 3 and Tan SUVs.
Now, BYD’s new electric sedan model is expected to hit the Chinese market later this year to compete with automotive giants such as Mercedes-Benz EQS, BMW i7, and Nio ET9. However, prices for the U7 have yet to be announced by BYD.
