The Citroën C4 Cactus Became a Highlight Among Used Cars in 2025 with Good Cost-Effectiveness, Powerful BMW-Sourced Turbo Engine, and Full Versions for Prices Below Basic 0 km Models.

In recent years, the Citroën C4 Cactus has established itself as one of the most interesting options among used cars available in Brazil. Even with the end of production in 2024, the model remains valued in the market for its attributes that go far beyond its eye-catching design.

The French compact SUV offers a complete driving experience, technology, and safety—without requiring a high investment.

In 2025, it is already possible to find versions of the model with a BMW-sourced turbo engine at prices that directly compete with entry-level models like the Renault Kwid 0 km.

Launched in Brazil in 2018, the C4 Cactus arrived with the mission of renewing Citroën’s image in the country and facing the growing demand for compact SUVs.

Even with a slight delay compared to competitors, the model quickly became the brand’s best-selling vehicle in the country, winning over consumers looking for a distinctive style, high ground clearance, and complete equipment packages.

Citroën C4 Cactus: Bold Design and Functional Structure for Urban Use

The visual of the Citroën C4 Cactus has always divided opinions, but that has never prevented the model from standing out on the streets.

Its rounded lines, horizontal taillights, and aesthetic elements like the Airbumps on the doors marked Citroën’s modern positioning in the segment.

Although classified as an SUV, the model has compact dimensions and is built on the PF1 platform, also used in the old

Peugeot 2008. With a length of 4.17 meters, a width of 1.71 m, and a wheelbase of 2.60 m, it offers enough interior space for four adults, but the trunk with only 320 liters may be a point of concern for larger families.

The suspensions were specifically adjusted for the Brazilian market, with a ground clearance of 22.5 centimeters — one of the best figures in the category.

This adjustment makes the model capable of smoothly handling speed bumps, potholes, and bumpy roads.

Flex Engine Focused on Economy or Performance, Depending on the Version

The C4 Cactus has two flex engine options that cater to different audiences.

In the entry-level and intermediate versions, such as Live, Feel, and Feel Pack, the 1.6 EC5 aspirated engine delivers up to 120 hp of power and 15.7 kgfm of torque with ethanol.

This unit is paired with a five-speed manual transmission in the most basic versions, but the most sought-after setup involves the six-speed Aisin automatic transmission, known for its smooth shifts.

On the other hand, for those seeking superior performance, the Shine version comes with the THP 1.6 turbo flex engine under the hood.

This unit, developed in partnership with BMW, is capable of generating up to 173 hp of power and 24.5 kgfm of torque.

With this engine, the C4 Cactus accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in about 8 seconds — performance that puts it ahead of several rivals in the segment.

This same engine was used in premium models like the BMW 316i and the Mini Cooper S, which reinforces the reliability and versatility of the mechanics employed in Citroën’s SUV.

Complete Standard Equipment from the Most Accessible Versions

Even in the simplest versions, the C4 Cactus already delivers a well-rounded package of standard features.

Starting with the Live configuration, the car comes with digital air conditioning, electric steering, electric windows and locks, mirrors with electric adjustment, LED daytime running lights, digital dashboard, front airbags, ABS brakes, and stability and traction controls.

The Feel version adds a multimedia center with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rearview camera, fog lights, and cruise control.

Upgrading to the Feel Pack, consumers also receive side airbags, keyless entry, rain sensor, automatic headlights, a dashboard with soft-touch finish, and a functional roof rack.

In the Shine THP version, in addition to the turbo engine, there are leather seats and the Grip Control system, which adjusts the traction of the front wheels according to the type of terrain.

Finally, the Shine Pack THP version offers a true active safety package, including front collision warning with automatic braking, lane departure warning, fatigue sensor, and electrochromatic rearview mirror.

Special Editions Add Value with Exclusivity and Style in the Citroën C4 Cactus

During its lifecycle, the Citroën C4 Cactus also received special editions that enhanced its appeal in the market.

Among them, the X-Series launched in 2021, based on the Live version, and the Rip Curl, derived from the Feel Pack with only 150 units produced.

More recently, in 2024, Citroën launched the special Noir series, limited to about 1,300 units of the Shine Pack THP version, with exclusive details in the finish and design.

These limited editions tend to retain good resale value, in addition to being sought after by those looking for a touch of exclusivity behind the wheel of a used car.

Attractive Prices Make the C4 Cactus a Smart Option Among Used Cars

The Citroën C4 Cactus presents a wide price range in the used car market, depending on the year, version, and mileage.

According to the Fipe Table, it is possible to find units from the 2019 line starting at R$ 61,000.

The versions with the turbo engine in the same line hover around R$ 75,000, which places them on par with basic 0 km vehicles, like the Renault Kwid.

Models from the 2020 line are available for prices between R$ 70,000 and R$ 84,000. For those interested in newer models, 2021 versions appear with prices ranging from R$ 72,000 to R$ 84,000.

The 2022 line exceeds R$ 75,000 even in the aspirated versions, reaching almost R$ 87,000 at the top of the line.

Units from 2023 and 2024, on the other hand, reach prices above R$ 90,000, with the 2024 Shine Pack THP being priced at R$ 109,000.

Still, the cost-effectiveness offered by versions with turbo engines and complete technological packages is competitive compared to less equipped 0 km options.

Strengths and Weaknesses Buyers Should Consider

When evaluating the Citroën C4 Cactus as a used car option, it is important to consider several aspects.

Among the positive points, the bold design, reasonable interior space, high body height, moderate fuel consumption, reliability of the 1.6 aspirated engine, and performance of the THP engine stand out.

On the other hand, there are limitations. The trunk with only 320 liters may not meet all needs.

Additionally, the maintenance cost for the turbo engine tends to be higher, and driving assistance features are only available in the more expensive versions.

Even with these details, the Citroën C4 Cactus proves to be an excellent alternative for those seeking comfort, performance, and safety in a used car with a modern look and a good level of equipment.
