Cadillac Optiq 2025, the brand's electric SUV, will arrive soon delivering great performance and incredible autonomy. Electric car does not yet have defined prices, but promises to arrive in 2024.
Meet the new Cadillac Optiq 2025, a Premium electric SUV that, after the Lyriq, Celestiq and Escalade IQ, is the automaker's latest all-electric model to be unveiled. Described as a compact luxury electric car, the model will sit below the Lyriq and act as the entry vehicle to the brand's electric lineup in North America.
Cadillac Optic features sporty finish
Cadillac has not yet given much information about its new electric SUV, plus the fact that its active driving dynamics were developed to appeal to global luxury customers. The automaker said additional details, features and pricing of the electric car will be released next year.
The two images released by Cadillac reveal the exterior design of the Optiq in the Sport trim version, and the fact that it is labeled as a 2025 model suggests that it will be launched in 2024. It remains to be seen whether General Motors will be able to do this, given the difficulties it has last year to expand production of its Lyriq electric car.

From a style point of view, the Cadillac Optic electric SUV is very similar to the Lyriq, sharing the same design language with the larger electric SUV. However, it has different details, such as smaller upper and lower grilles, different headlights and taillights, an exclusive C-pillar treatment and much more.
If it crossed your mind that you've seen the Cadillac Optiq before, you're not wrong. The electric car design was first revealed in China in August by the country's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
New electric SUV delivers 286 horsepower
The North American-spec Cadillac Optiq looks the same as the Chinese-spec model, but it's uncertain whether the powertrain specs will be the same. In China, the Cadillac Optiq will be available with a single or two Ultium motors and batteries.
There will be two rear-wheel drive powertrains, with 204 horsepower (150 kW) or 245 horsepower (180 kW), and an all-wheel drive powertrain that generates 286 horsepower (211 kW) and 47,4 .XNUMX kgfm of torque.
Developed on a variant of GM's BEV3 platform shared with the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Buick Electra E5 and E4, the Cadillac Optiq isn't much smaller than the Lyriq. It is 4,82 meters long, 1,91 meters wide and 1,64 meters high, while its wheelbase is 2,95 meters, exactly the same as the Equinox EV, Electra E5 and Electra E4. For comparison purposes, the Cadillac Lyriq is 4,99 meters long, 1,97 meters wide and 1,62 meters high, with a wheelbase of 3,09 meters.
Possible prices for the electric SUV
The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is expected to be more affordable than the 2024 Lyriq, which starts at US$58.590, including shipping. It is not known for sure how much cheaper the electric car will be, but we cannot get our hopes up, given that even the launch model Chevrolet Equinox with 210 horsepower front-wheel drive starts at US$48,995, and the Optiq is a more sophisticated model.
According to data, the Cadillac electric SUV will come to Brazil in the future, however, before that, GM will launch the Chevrolet Equinox EV, a model with which it shares the platform and several components.
