Cadillac Optiq 2025, Electric SUV from the Brand, Will Arrive Soon Delivering Great Performance and Incredible Range. Electric Car Still Does Not Have Defined Prices, But Promises to Arrive in 2024.
Meet the new Cadillac Optiq 2025, a premium electric SUV that, after the Lyriq, Celestiq, and Escalade IQ, is the latest fully electric model from the automaker to be presented. Described as a compact luxury electric vehicle, the model will sit below the Lyriq and serve as the entry-level vehicle for the brand’s electric line in North America.
Cadillac Optic Features Sporty Finishes
Cadillac has not provided much information about its new electric SUV, beyond the fact that its active driving dynamics have been developed to attract global luxury customers. The automaker stated that additional details, features, and prices for the electric car will be announced next year.
The two images released by Cadillac reveal the external design of the Optiq in its Sport trim, and the fact that it is labeled as a 2025 model suggests it will launch in 2024. It remains to be seen whether General Motors will be able to achieve this, given the difficulties it has faced in scaling production of its Lyriq electric vehicle.

From a styling perspective, the Caddy Optic Electric SUV is very similar to the Lyriq, sharing the same design language with the larger electric SUV. However, it features different details, such as smaller upper and lower grilles, different headlights and taillights, a unique treatment of the C-pillar, and more.
If it crossed your mind that you have seen the Cadillac Optiq before, you are not mistaken. The electric car’s design was revealed for the first time in China in August by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
New Electric SUV Delivers 286 Horsepower
The Cadillac Optiq with North American specifications looks identical to the model with Chinese specifications, but it is not certain whether the powertrain specifications will be the same. In China, the Cadillac Optiq will be available with an Ultium Drive powertrain with either one or two motors and Ultium batteries.
There will be two powertrains with rear-wheel drive, with 204 horsepower (150 kW) or 245 horsepower (180 kW), and one all-wheel-drive powertrain that delivers 286 horsepower (211 kW) and 47.4 kgfm of torque.
Developed on a variant of GM’s BEV3 platform shared with the Chevrolet Equinox EV, Buick Electra E5, and E4, the Cadillac Optiq is not much smaller than the Lyriq. It measures 4.82 meters in length, 1.91 meters in width, and 1.64 meters in height, while its wheelbase is 2.95 meters, exactly the same as the Equinox EV, Electra E5, and Electra E4. For comparison, the Cadillac Lyriq measures 4.99 meters in length, 1.97 meters in width, and 1.62 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 3.09 meters.
Possible Prices for the Electric SUV
Expectations are that the Cadillac Optiq 2025 will be more affordable than the Lyriq 2024, which starts at US$ 58,590, including shipping. It is not certain how much cheaper the electric car will be, but one cannot have too many hopes, given that even the base model Chevrolet Equinox with 210 horsepower front-wheel drive starts at US$ 48,995, and the Optiq is a more sophisticated model.
According to reports, the Cadillac electric SUV will come to Brazil in the future; however, before that, GM will launch the Chevrolet Equinox EV, a model that shares the platform and several components.
