Road Dangers: 50,000 People Die In Road Accidents Every Year
One of the primary concerns related to advancements in Brazil’s transportation sector is focused on safer traffic, with fewer deaths and accidents. Daily occurrences on Brazil’s highways result in significant social and economic costs.
With the loss of lives, various traumas are generated in society and impacts on the economy. The country registers 14 deaths per day on federal highways, and annually, there are about 50,000 accidents with victims, a large part of which involve trucks.
Data Shows That Heavier Vehicles Are Not Present In Most Incidents. About 60% of accidents involve passenger cars, 40% motorcycles, and only 20% trucks. However, an incident involving heavier vehicles poses an even greater risk to drivers due to the potential for impact.
