Canada aims to address the population deficit issue and plans to admit over 1.2 million permanent residents in 2023. “And Brazilians are well regarded by Quebec companies due to their competence and ease of cultural adaptation,” comments Elisa Rinco, international mobility director at Québec International.

Based on the numbers and the available opportunities, Canada is already preparing for high demand. In the six years prior to the pandemic, the volume of Definitive Exit Declarations registered by the Federal Revenue grew by 125%. Additionally, the consulting firm Hayman-Woodward reports an average of 2,300 expatriation cases per year.

In Six Months, Some Sectors Experienced a More Significant Increase in Job Openings. Among Them:

  • Construction – 110,000 positions
  • Logistics and Supply – 122,000 positions
  • Health and Social Assistance – 62,000 positions

According to Ed Santos, an immigration expert and partner at Canada Intercâmbio, the market still suffers from a lack of qualified professionals.

The country needs immigrants to fill open positions. In addition to having one of the lowest birth rates in the world, its population is also one of the oldest in the world, with 18% aged 65 years or older.

Ed Santos is also the organizer of Expo Canada 2023, a free fair for those who want to learn more about opportunities to study and work in the country.

The event will take place in São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, and Campo Grande from March 9 to 14. Check the complete schedule and more information on the website. WARNING! For the positions available in Canada, visa eligibility criteria must be met, etc. Expo Canada 2023 does NOT provide services connected to this issue. They only discuss strategies for those looking to seek employment in the country.
