Michelin and General Motors Launch Airless, Puncture-Proof Tire; New Technology Will Revolutionize the Automotive Industry Worldwide
The development was long and took over ten years for the automotive industry giants General Motors and Michelin to find the definitive solution. But the project seems to be ahead of its time, and the sale of the long-awaited Uptis – the tire of the future, airless and puncture-proof, could happen within a year.
The idea behind the Uptis (Unique Puncture-Proof Tyre System) is that the wheel supports the weight of the car through flexible spokes made of a mixture of fiberglass and rubber, materials that provide the necessary flexibility and stiffness to roll, rather than using pressurized air as an internal element. Internship Opportunities in Rio de Janeiro
Requirements:
- Engineering Students (Various) from the 4th semester or expected graduation between DEC/2023 and July/2024
- Availability to intern from 8 AM to 3 PM
- Advanced Knowledge in Excel
- Good Knowledge in Power BI
- Advanced English
Main Activities:
Support analysts and/or organizers in conducting time/motion studies on workstations, within a defined and restricted perimeter.
Analyze and critique the working conditions of operators, machines, and processes proposing opportunities for improvement.
Conduct small studies/analyses in the process.
Create work orders with reports and present to clients.
Participate in the MQP Achievement (alternate).
