Winner of the Mega-Sena Won Alone R$ 99.5 Million, Already Withdrawn the Prize at the Bank, and Is Now Richer Than 31 Municipalities in Espírito Santo. See What Can Be Bought and Why This New Millionaire of Brazil Made History.

Imagine leaving the lottery office richer than whole cities. Now imagine the scene: you place a simple bet, check the numbers, and suddenly discover that you have just become richer than dozens of entire municipalities. It may sound exaggerated, but that’s exactly what happened to the winner of the Mega-Sena who won the prize of R$ 99.5 million in the last draw.

The case occurred in Barra de São Francisco, in the Northwest of Espírito Santo, and quickly became a topic of conversation throughout Brazil. The amount is so high that it places the lucky winner on the radar as a new millionaire of Brazil with financial power greater than the annual budget of 31 cities in the state.

Lucky Capixaba Made a Simple Physical Bet of Six Dozens

The winning bet correctly guessed all six drawn numbers at the Espaço da Sorte in São Paulo.

The drawn numbers were 01 – 06 – 24 – 27 – 28 – 57, in contest 2897. The lucky Capixaba made a simple physical bet of six dozens at a lottery shop in the city center. The store is called Loteria Mapa da Mina.

The exact prize amount is R$ 99,592,255.98. Besides this bet that hit six dozens, two other bettors from Espírito Santo also won the quina in the same draw. One bet is from Viana, which won R$ 36,347.56. The ticket was filled out at Point da Sorte Loteriais.

Prize Has Already Been Redeemed at the Bank

According to official information from Caixa Econômica Federal, responsible for lotteries in the country, the winner has already appeared at a branch and requested the prize withdrawal.

Caixa itself clarifies that amounts above R$ 10,000 are not paid immediately. The minimum waiting period is two business days after the winner’s presentation, which is standard procedure for verification, security, and validation of the bet.

This type of rule is publicly available in the official rules of Loterias Caixa, which reinforce that Mega-Sena prizes follow rigorous payment criteria.

More Money Than the Budget of 31 Capixaba Municipalities

When the prize amount is compared to public data, the impact is even more impressive. According to the budget forecasts for 2025 from the Tribunal de Contas do Espírito Santo (TCE-ES), the R$ 99.5 million surpasses the annual revenue of 31 municipalities.

These cities in the state have budgets ranging from R$ 33 million to R$ 94.13 million, meaning that the prize would fully cover the coffers of these municipalities for an entire year.

In other words: the winner alone has more resources than entire public administrations.

Money Sufficient to Transform Whole Cities

If this amount were invested directly in Barra de São Francisco, the impact would be enormous. Data from the Instituto Jones dos Santos Neves (IJSN) show that the projected investments for the municipality revolve around R$ 399.4 million.

The Mega-Sena prize would represent almost 25% of that amount, sufficient for:

  • Renovating roads
  • Building schools
  • Expanding health units
  • Modernizing industrial sectors

Additionally, the amount equals 44% of all that the city collects and spends in a year, according to the Control Panel of TCE-ES.

Richer Than the GDP of Some Municipalities

The prize also surpasses the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of some Brazilian cities. According to data from IBGE, the amount is greater than:

  • Divino de São Lourenço, with a GDP of R$ 82.58 million
  • Mucurici, with a GDP of R$ 96.75 million

In practice, this means that the new millionaire of Brazil concentrates, in personal wealth, more riches than everything these municipalities produce in an entire year.

What Can Be Bought With R$ 99.5 Million?

When it comes to consumption, the numbers are also striking.

According to business administrator Gabriel de Oliveira, a specialist in the automotive market, new popular cars in Brazil currently cost between R$ 70,000 and R$ 80,000.

With that, the winner could buy:

  • Between 1,200 and 1,400 cars
  • Approximately 4,950 popular motorcycles, considering an average value of R$ 20,000

Luxury Properties Come Into View

If the idea is to invest in real estate, the range of options in Espírito Santo is vast. The prize would allow for the purchase of:

  • A mansion worth R$ 18.5 million in a luxury condominium in Guarapari
  • Seven oceanfront penthouses, valued at R$ 12 million each
  • A mansion in Pedra Azul, with a wine cellar, gym, and heated pool, for R$ 9.2 million, and there would still be money left over

Luxury real estate broker Marcela Raizer explains why this type of investment attracts great fortunes:

“For great millionaires, high-end real estate represents much more than an asset; they are instruments of wealth protection, capital multiplication, and family legacy. High-end properties do not disappear in financial crises and are not subject to sharp market fluctuations like stocks or cryptocurrencies.”

She also highlights that high-end homes in the state can yield rental incomes above R$ 30,000 per week during the high season.

Luxury Cars Worthy of the Millionaires List in Brazil

If the focus is on ostentation on wheels, the options are also generous. According to Gabriel de Oliveira, the Brazilian market offers:

  • Convertible Ferraris valued at up to R$ 7.9 million
  • A Aston Martin Valour, limited edition, estimated between R$ 15 and R$ 16.5 million
  • A Pagani Utopia, imported directly, with a value above R$ 60 million, considered the most expensive car ever registered in Brazil

The 31 Cities Whose Revenue Would Be Covered by the Prize

The prize amount fully covers the annual revenue of the following municipalities in Espírito Santo:

  • Divino de São Lourenço – R$ 33.20 million
  • Apiacá – R$ 37.67 million
  • Bom Jesus do Norte – R$ 41.10 million
