Embraer Decides to Take a Step by Investing in the Future with Its New Electric Taxi
Embraer revealed this week the first images of the test performed with a prototype of an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The “flying car” still does not have an official name. It aims to provide individual transportation for people in urban areas, as an alternative to traditional air taxis.

For safety reasons, Embraer’s flying car is remotely controlled and does not yet have the capacity to carry passengers. The next steps involve advancing the development of control surfaces, software, and propulsion.
The electric taxi prototype from Embraer features ten propellers powered by electric motors and may have two additional rotors to enhance performance during cruising flights. Nevertheless, the flying car is expected to resemble small remote-controlled helicopters while maintaining a “futuristic” style.

The Future of Flying Cars Is Closer Than You Think
Shifting a bit from our country, last September, at the Beijing Auto Show, a startup of electric vehicles showcased the first of a series of flying cars that are in development and are expected to be commercialized in 2022 in Chinese territory.
Just like Hyundai’s Elevate flying car prototype, Xpeng’s model appears far from resembling a traditional car. It looks more like a small helicopter or a giant drone.
The vehicle can reach up to 25 meters of flight and can park vertically. Additionally, it is equipped with autopilot.
