According to Carlos José Travassos, Executive Manager of Deep Waters, the initiative is far from being a retreat from Petrobras in the Campos Basin. “This is a fundamental requirement for the continuity of our operations in more challenging scenarios. It is just a part of the ongoing renewal plan for the Campos Basin, which includes the exploratory campaign for the 14 blocks acquired between 2017 and 2019 that occupy an area practically the size of a new Campos Basin,” says Travassos.

Travassos also states that the revitalization of Marlim includes the interconnection of more than 100 wells to the systems already in operation, complementary development projects, new production systems with the installation of three new FPSOs, the reorganization of flow networks, and the recovery of existing unit integrity. “Establishing a partnership in Marlim allows for the sharing of costs and risks and, of course, opportunities. This movement reinforces cash generation, which is important not only for reducing our debt but also guarantees the investments planned in the Campos Basin renewal plan,” concludes the Executive Manager of Deep Waters.
