Cheap Electric Cars, Starting at R$ 78 Thousand, Gain Space in the Used Market and Stand Out for Cost-Benefit and Low Maintenance.

Used Electric Cars Starting at R$ 78 Thousand Win Over Brazilians Seeking Savings

The market for used electric cars in Brazil is in full expansion. In 2025, electric vehicles (BEVs) captured 4.5% of the national market, with 8,023 units registered in September.

As a result, consumers who previously viewed electric cars as luxury products now find cheaper options, with prices starting at R$ 78 thousand, the same level as popular combustion cars like the Fiat Mobi or Hyundai HB20.

This movement is mainly happening in large urban centers, where buyers seek better cost-benefit, simple maintenance, and savings on fueling.

Additionally, buying and selling platforms for vehicles are seeing an increase in demand for used electric cars, driving a new market niche.

Cheap Electric Cars Offer Cost-Benefit and Technology

The rise of cheap electric cars in the used market brings an important change in consumer profile.

Many drivers now consider investing in an electric vehicle not only for sustainability but also for lower operating costs.

Electric vehicles spend less on energy compared to gasoline, require less maintenance, and have a longer lifespan. According to specialists, the consumption difference can represent savings of up to 70% in the long run.

However, when buying a used electric car, it is essential to check the condition of the battery, which directly impacts the vehicle’s range and performance.

Renault Kwid E-Tech: The Cheapest Electric Car in Brazil

The Renault Kwid E-Tech 2023 tops the list of the cheapest electric cars in the country. With a market price starting at R$ 78 thousand, the model is ideal for urban use.

Equipped with a 26.7 kWh battery, the compact offers a range of up to 240 km and fully charges in less than three hours on fast chargers. Additionally, it comes with six airbags, a 7” multimedia system, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The success of the Kwid E-Tech shows that interest in affordable electric cars goes far beyond the tech enthusiast crowd.

JAC e-JS1 and iEV20: Cost-Benefit for App Drivers

Another option among affordable used electric cars is the JAC e-JS1 2022, found for around R$ 78 thousand. It offers a real range of up to 280 km, being popular among app drivers.

“The JAC e-JS1 reigned alone in this segment until the arrival of the Dolphin Mini,” explains the Fiesp survey.

The JAC iEV20 2020 can be found starting at R$ 74 thousand. Although it is an older model, it maintains a range of 320 km and delivers good performance, with 68 hp of power and 21 kgfm of torque.

Both combine low acquisition costs with good urban performance, making them great options for those seeking range and savings.

CAOA Chery iCar and BYD Dolphin Mini: Comfort and Efficiency

The CAOA Chery iCar 2022, nicknamed “Little Ant” in China, stands out for its modern design and well-equipped interior. With an average price of R$ 77.9 thousand, it offers a range of up to 200 km, sufficient for daily city use.

Meanwhile, the BYD Dolphin Mini 2024, a bestseller, has already accumulated over 20 thousand registered units in 2025. Its price starts at R$ 100 thousand, but the model delivers a range of up to 340 km, superior comfort, and advanced technology.

Both demonstrate that cheap electric cars can also offer sophistication and efficiency without requiring exorbitant prices.

Renault Zoe: Range and Comfort in an Advanced Compact

The veteran Renault Zoe Intense 2022 is another highlight in the used electric car market. With a range of up to 385 km, the model offers solid performance and the comfort of a premium car.

Today, the Zoe can be found for R$ 115 thousand, a price lower than the Fipe table. Although more expensive, it is an electric car option with excellent cost-benefit for those seeking performance and extended range.

Used Electric Market Grows Strongly

The increase in the availability of cheap used electric cars shows that the Brazilian market is maturing. Brands like Renault, BYD, JAC, and CAOA Chery are making access to electric vehicles more democratic.

Additionally, consumers are beginning to understand that cost-benefit goes beyond the purchase price. Energy savings, low maintenance, and the efficiency of electric motors offset the initial investment.

However, specialists warn: before closing a deal, it is important to assess the state of the battery and check the vehicle’s usage and charging history.
