With Elegant Design, Long-Lasting Battery, and 90 Hz Display, the New Moto G05 Comes as an Affordable Motorola Smartphone for Daily Use. Find Out If the Cost-Benefit Really Makes Sense.

Motorola has a new addition to its popular Moto G line: the G05, an affordable Motorola smartphone designed for those looking for a functional device for daily tasks without spending much. The proposal is clear: deliver above-average design for the category, a battery that won’t let you down, and a smooth user experience, all at a competitive price.

However, in a market filled with entry-level options, every detail counts. A low price often means sacrifices in areas like performance and camera quality. Can the Moto G05 balance its specifications well to stand out? We analyzed all the positive and negative points to help you discover if this launch is the right choice for your budget and needs.

Design and Display: Premium Finish and 90 Hz Smoothness

Affordable Motorola smartphone arrives in Brazil with a 90 Hz display, 5,000 mAh battery, and a price below R$ 800

The first point that stands out on the Moto G05 is its design. With a back that resembles vegan leather, it gives the impression of a more expensive device, an important differential in its price range. Motorola got it right by bringing an elegant look and a comfortable grip, moving away from the simple plastic that dominates the segment.

The display is an HD+ IPS LCD, which is expected for an affordable Motorola smartphone. The big highlight here is the 90 Hz refresh rate, which makes navigation and system animations much smoother and more enjoyable. Although the edges are a bit thick, especially the bottom one, the viewing experience is good for everyday use. The protection is provided by Gorilla Glass 3.

Performance and Battery: Focus on Essentials

The Moto G05 is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of internal storage. This configuration is sufficient for basic tasks such as using social media, WhatsApp, and browsing the internet. However, do not expect top-tier performance. It struggles to run heavy games, such as Call of Duty, showing sluggishness and stuttering. For more casual gaming, it performs adequately.

Where it really shines is in battery life. With a 5,200 mAh battery, slightly above the market average, the G05 easily promises an entire day of use away from the outlet, potentially lasting up to two days with moderate use. The device supports 18W charging, but Motorola includes a simpler 10W charger in the box.

Cameras and Other Features

The camera setup is simple and functional. The rear main camera features 50 MP and uses artificial intelligence to optimize portraits. In good lighting conditions, it can capture photos with satisfactory quality for posting on social media. The front camera has 8 MP and is suitable for selfies and video calls. Video recording on both cameras is limited to Full HD resolution.

A positive point is the presence of stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, which provide a more immersive audio experience. On the downside, a significant drawback is the absence of NFC, which prevents using the phone for contactless payments.

Is It a Good Buy?

YouTube Video

The Moto G05 is an affordable Motorola smartphone that delivers on its promise: to be a basic device, but with some interesting differentiators, such as design, long-lasting battery, and 90 Hz display.

However, its purchase is only worthwhile if the price is truly competitive. Launched around R$ 700, it faces competitors that sometimes offer a better package for a similar value. This device becomes an excellent cost-benefit option if found on sale, around R$ 600 or less. Above that, it is worth researching other models, including from Motorola itself, like the Moto G24, which may offer more for a lower price.

And you, what do you think of the Moto G05? Do you believe it is a good option among entry-level smartphones? Leave your opinion in the comments!

Me parece muito bom, porém a limitação em pagamentos por aproximação nos faz repensar a aquisição.

Este aparelho surpreendeu pela duração da bateria, o restante está dentro da expectativa para o modelo!
