A New Factory Will Be Inaugurated in November and Is Already Considered the Most Modern in the Country in the Sector. The Mega Investment in the Largest Cotton Oil Factory in Brazil Promises to Generate Hundreds of Direct Jobs for the Population.

Brazil is about to witness a major milestone in the agro-industrial sector with the inauguration of the largest cotton oil factory in the country. We are talking about a mega investment of R$ 265 million made by the Cearense Décio Barreto Júnior, at the helm of Icofort Industrial S/A. The new factory, located in Nova Mutum, Mato Grosso, promises to revolutionize cotton oil production and consolidate Icofort’s leadership in the national market.

Mega Investment and Expansion: The New Factory in Nova Mutum

Founded in 1964, Icofort Industrial S/A began its journey in the animal feed sector but over the years expanded its operations to the extraction and refining of cotton oil. Today, with units in Juazeiro and Luís Eduardo Magalhães, both in Bahia, the company stands out for its capacity for innovation and adaptation to market demands. Now, with the construction of the new factory in Mato Grosso, Icofort takes another bold step in its growth story.

The new factory of Icofort, with an investment of R$ 265 million, will be inaugurated in November and is already considered the largest and most modern in the country in the sector. The unit will occupy an area of 259,084 m², with 45,136 m² of built area, and will have an impressive annual production capacity of 216 thousand tons of cotton seeds and 108 thousand tons of refined crude cotton oil.

This new industrial plant not only solidifies Icofort’s position as a market leader but also represents a significant advancement in the cotton production chain in Brazil. Mato Grosso, the largest cotton producer in the country, gains even more strength with this new facility, which promises to meet the growing national demand for refined vegetable oil.

Government Support and Essential Partnerships for the Viability of the Largest Cotton Oil Factory in the Country

The success of this mega investment would not be possible without the crucial support of the government of Mato Grosso and the Federation of Industries of the State (FIEMT). These partners were essential for the project’s viability, which was considered a “major achievement” for the industrial sector of the state.

FIEMT, together with the Economic Development Council of Mato Grosso (Condeprodemat), was responsible for approving the ICMS deferment for Icofort, a tax incentive that stimulates the development of the state’s industry. This partnership not only strengthens the local economy but also creates new opportunities for producers and suppliers investing in Mato Grosso.

Creation of Hundreds of Direct Jobs

In addition to being a significant step for the cotton industry, Icofort’s new plant in Nova Mutum will have a considerable economic impact on the region. With the creation of 150 direct jobs, the factory will reinforce Icofort’s presence in the Midwest of Brazil and contribute to the sustainable economic development of the area.

The president of FIEMT, Silvio Rangel, highlighted the importance of this initiative for the state: “Icofort’s new factory in Nova Mutum is an important milestone in the industrial growth process of Mato Grosso, placing the state as a strategic hub for agribusiness.”

Although the investment was made in Mato Grosso, the Cearense pride is present in every detail of this project. Décio Barreto Júnior, originally from Icó, Ceará, is an example of entrepreneurship and determination. His journey is celebrated by fellow natives, such as the Executive Secretary of Agribusiness of the Government of Ceará, Sílvio Carlos Ribeiro, and the president of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Ceará (Faec), Amílcar Silveira, who praise Décio Júnior’s entrepreneurial spirit and courage.

A Bright Future for Icofort and the National Industry

With the inauguration of this new factory, Icofort not only consolidates its leadership in the cotton oil market but also paves the way for new projects and expansions. The company is already a reference in the Brazilian agro-industrial sector, with a diverse operation that includes the production of vegetable oils, margarines, fats, animal feed, and biodiesel.

For Décio Barreto Júnior, the future of the largest factory of cotton oil in the country is promising: “We are at the forefront of agribusiness, and I see a bright future for our company and for the people who are part of our team.”

In addition to its economic role, Icofort also demonstrates a strong commitment to social responsibility, supporting projects in underprivileged communities in Ceará and Bahia.

The inauguration of the largest cotton oil factory in Brazil, resulting from a mega investment of R$ 265 million, is a milestone for Icofort and the national industry. With government support and strategic partnerships, the new unit in Nova Mutum, Mato Grosso, promises not only to strengthen the local economy but also to consolidate Brazil as one of the leading producers of cotton oil in the world.
