With Pre-Sale Open and Arrival Expected in The Second Quarter of 2026, The Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 Bets on Salon Looks, Five-Star Safety, and Giant Dual Screen, But Keeps The Old 1.5 Turbo CVT and Raises Suspicions About Consumption, Final Price, and Actual Delivery
The São Paulo auto show became the chosen stage for Caoa Chery to showcase the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027, an SUV that was already selling well and now arrives with a heavy facelift, redesigned interior, and a tech package that approaches what the brand offers in larger models. On the outside, the car looks new; on the inside, the cabin has been practically reinvented to look like a premium showroom SUV.
The detail that catches the eye of the more attentive consumer is that, under the hood, the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 still relies on the familiar 1.5 turbo engine with CVT, without the expected shift to direct injection or official consumption data. The question that remains is simple and direct: with so much new look and electronics, will the mechanical package and the final price keep pace with promises of savings and cost-effectiveness or not?
What Changed in The Design of The Tiggo 5X Pro 2027

The first impact of the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 is at the front. The headlights have been replaced and now follow the design of the Tiggo 7, featuring a full LED signature and sequential turn signals, those dynamic turn signals that run across the optical set.

A 2024 Toyota Corolla hybrid with only 12,500 km ended up in the junkyard, and when the dismantling staff saw the car, they were shocked because they know that this model easily exceeds 300,000 km without serious mechanical issues.
The bumper is entirely painted in the body color, with LED DRL at the bottom, front parking sensors, and a redesigned grille, with diamond-like elements and the logo centered in highlight.
The front also houses the front camera and the electromagnetic radar that feeds the ACC, the adaptive cruise control.
The SUV maintains a good approach angle and features a lower deflector to protect the underside, in addition to a front area designed for good radiator cooling.
From the side, the dimensions remain unchanged: about 4.30 meters in length, with mirrors and door handles in the color of the car, side turn signal repeaters, functional roof rack, and a sunroof that opens, as opposed to the old merely glassed panoramic roof.
The wheels continue to be a strong point. The Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 retains the previous design but continues to stand out for using 18-inch wheels in a category where many rivals still work with 16 or 17.
These are five-hole wheels, with ventilated disc brakes at the front and disc brakes at the rear, something that few competitors offer.
The front suspension is independent McPherson type, with visible attention to details of rubber parts and insulation to reduce noise.
At the rear, the facelift is also evident.
The old taillights have given way to thinner full LED sets that cross the entire tailgate, aligned with the current market trend.
The SUV comes with rear parking sensors, rearview camera, large brake light, defroster, windshield wiper, and the Tiggo 5X Pro emblem with the brand logo.
The trunk, with around 340 liters, is well-finished, with complete lining, dedicated dampers, and a sturdy cover made of good quality material, while the spare tire is temporary, thin, with a jack attached to a polystyrene support.
Updated Interior and Feel of a More Expensive SUV

If on the outside the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 modernizes its appearance, it’s on the inside that the leap becomes clearer.
The dashboard now becomes completely rubberized in contact areas, with well-designed finish and a more refined look.
The big star is the new screen set: the old multimedia system is replaced by an integrated “tablet” in the instrument cluster, with two 10.25-inch screens each, totaling 20.5 inches of digital surface.
All the instrumentation is now digital, with graphics inspired by the Tiggo 8, and the multimedia center retains the familiar layout, now in a more modern and integrated format.
The steering wheel has also been changed and mimics the design of the Tiggo 8, with a flat base, leather with visible stitching, ACC, audio, and voice controls, as well as height and depth adjustment with a good feel when handling.
The turn signal and wiper levers have been updated, with automatic headlight and windshield wiper with rain sensor.
On the console, the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 retains the CVT, now surrounded by new physical buttons for multimedia and hazard lights, electric parking brake with auto hold function, hill start assist, and drive mode selection, with sport and eco options.
The air conditioning is dual-zone digital, with dedicated controls for front and rear defrosters.
A convenience highlight is the 50-watt induction charger, faster than the average for the category, accompanied by a wide armrest and ventilated storage at the bottom.
The front seats have been redesigned.
They now feature integrated headrests, a sportier shape, larger side bolsters, and different textures, with electric adjustment for the driver and hidden rails covered by panels.
On the floor, the velvet-type carpet enhances the feeling of a carefully finished product.
However, the passenger seat is still mechanical, which can be questioned in an SUV trying to elevate its image.
In the rear, the scene is mixed.
The Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 maintains good knee space, with a nearly flat center tunnel and magazine holders on both front seats, as well as a split backrest, three-point seatbelts for everyone, and an armrest with two cup holders.
On the other hand, the brand removed the leather and LED strip from the top of the door, simplified the rear air vents, and still does not offer USB type A in that region, which may create competition between kids and adults for the centralized vents.
Respectable Safety and Electronics in The Tiggo 5X Pro 2027

One of the points where the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 tries to stand out is the safety and driver assistance package.
The model features ACC, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam switching, lane-keeping system with centering, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The SUV also includes blind spot detection, front and side cameras, 360-degree view, and front and rear parking sensors.
According to the established reference tests, all cars from the brand in this category receive five stars in European collision assessments and offer seven airbags, putting the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 in a safety bracket above what was seen in the category a few years ago.
The combination of disc brakes on all four wheels, independent front and rear suspension with a more sophisticated behavior than traditional torsion axles reinforces this positioning.
In practice, the electronic set brings the SUV closer to larger and more expensive models, especially due to the inclusion of ACC, lane-keeping system with centering, and automatic braking.
For the consumer, this means that the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 delivers a worthy showroom active safety package, which weighs heavily when considering family use and longer trips.
1.5 Turbo Engine Almost the Same and The Doubts About Consumption
When the hood of the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 is lifted, two sides of the same story appear.
From an assembly point of view, the 1.5 turbo engine comes with a painted compartment in the car color, dampers to hold the hood, good fire wall, and well-organized components, with easy access to brake fluid, windshield washer reservoir, dipstick, and oil filler cap.
From a technical perspective, however, little has changed from what was already known.
The Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 continues with the same 1.5 turbo with indirect injection, 147 horsepower on gasoline, 150 horsepower on ethanol, and torque of 21.4 mkgf on both fuels, coupled to a CVT that simulates up to nine gears.
The set features a timing chain, cam variator in the intake and exhaust, water radiator to cool the admitted air, electronic throttle, and four valves per cylinder.
Fans expected the adoption of direct injection or some deeper calibration change, but the message from the compartment is that the mechanical basis remains practically the same.
This leads directly to the sensitive point: at the time of the presentation, there was no official consumption data, not even the Inmetro seal displayed on the car.
There is talk of a promise of a more economical car in the 26-27 lineup, but without technical sheets published, the consumer is left with just the discourse.
Add to this a 51-liter tank and a 340-liter trunk, and the scenario is clear: the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 has the dimensions and capacity of a traditional compact SUV, with known mechanics, but without concrete proof that it became more efficient in real use.
Until official consumption numbers are released, the question of how much it consumes in the city and on the road remains central to the conversation.
Price, Arrival, and Where The Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 May Be Worth It
The pre-sale of the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 has already been opened and its arrival in the Brazilian market is expected in the second quarter of 2026, as a 2026 vehicle model for 2027.
In other words, the launch was designed to take advantage of the showroom spotlight, generate anticipation, and only later reveal the full price, versions, and packages.
The presentation video reinforces this warming phase: there is still no price disclosed there, nor official values for the hybrid version that is expected to be part of the lineup.
The real cost-effectiveness of the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 will directly depend on how much Caoa Chery will charge for the package with facelift, updated interior, giant screens, 50-watt charger, complete ADAS package, and mechanics without major revolutions.
If it comes in significantly above the price range that was already bothering the competition, the brand risks hearing that it delivered a lot of look and little change under the hood.
On the other hand, if the pricing is aggressive and the combustion version manages reasonable consumption figures when the official data appears, the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 could solidify the image of an SUV that “holds its own” against established rivals, offering more technological and safety content for a competitive price.
Until then, the most rational recommendation is to wait for the complete technical sheet, defined pricing, and preferably independent assessments of consumption and performance.
In your place, looking at what the Tiggo 5X Pro 2027 offers in terms of facelift, interior, and electronics, while keeping practically the same 1.5 turbo engine, would you take the risk on this launch or would you prefer to invest in a competitor with well-known pricing and consumption?
