CPH Delivers This Week to the Population of the State of Pará the Renovation of the Alenquer River Terminal, Which Received an Investment of R$ 4.5 Million for Infrastructure Works Aiming to Ensure More Safety and Operational Quality.

This Tuesday (28/06), the Government of Pará, through the Pará Ports and Waterways Company (CPH), will deliver the renovated Alenquer Passenger and Cargo River Terminal in Baixo Amazonas to the population. For the infrastructure works, a total investment of R$ 4.5 million was made, and the local residents will benefit from an even more efficient structure for transportation.

CPH Will Deliver Alenquer River Terminal to the Population After Completing Infrastructure Works for a Total Overhaul of the Structure in Pará

The state government of Pará will hold a ceremony this Tuesday for the delivery of the fully renovated Alenquer River Terminal, equipped with a quality structure for the public. The delivery will be made by CPH, responsible for managing the infrastructure works at the terminal, which now boasts significantly greater operational quality, more safety, and an excellent structure for transportation operations in the region.

Therefore, this upcoming Tuesday, CPH President Abraão Benassuly and the State Governor Helder Barbalho will participate in the ceremony to deliver the port, which will benefit more than 80,000 inhabitants of the state of Pará.

The Alenquer River Terminal underwent a 13-year halt in infrastructure works and will now be delivered to the public by CPH. Thus, the state government seeks to ensure quality transportation for the population in Pará with the R$ 4.5 million investment made in the project.

Thus, painter Leandro da Silva Santos, 34, celebrated the completion of the works project, which received an investment of R$ 4.5 million, and emphasized: “I was born and still live in Alenquer, and I know very well what it’s like to live in a city where river transport is the most used means of getting around. We needed to seek medical assistance, and with the floods, it became unfeasible to travel, as without the terminal, the roads were congested, and there was no way to go by car or motorcycle. Now we will be happy again.”

Infrastructure Works at Alenquer River Terminal Will Ensure Better Quality in Transportation Operations and Greater Mobility for the Population

The Alenquer River Terminal underwent a series of renovation works on its infrastructure and, after the state government’s million-dollar investment, will be able to meet the demand of the local population. Thus, among the new facilities at the port, there are comfortable seating, male and female restrooms and accessible restrooms, luggage carts, ticket sales counters, a snack bar, government agency offices, locker areas, TV, and drinking fountains.

Furthermore, the infrastructure works also included the installation of a covered bi-articulated metal ramp and covered floating dock for passenger boarding and disembarking. This is a structure that did not previously exist at the site and now ensures even more quality in transportation operations for the population in the region.

Finally, the Alenquer River Terminal now also includes a Sewage Treatment Station (ETS), along with signage, accessibility, and landscaping.

The new port will be managed by the Alenquer City Hall, and CPH hopes that the works project can positively contribute to improving the quality of life and mobility for the population in the region, aiming for growth that is not only economic in the state but primarily social.
