The Executive Director of the Association, Telmo Ghiorzi, stated that a large portion of Brazilian professionals who speak fluent English choose to work abroad, as they have the opportunity to earn in dollars (the US dollar is being quoted at around R$ 5.17) and are more valued. According to offshore oil and gas workers, Brazilian companies do not pay decent salaries and do not offer good working conditions.
Telmo stated in an interview that, for every R$ 1 billion invested in this field, it is estimated that over 25,000 new job openings will arise, both domestically and internationally. However, when the most skilled professionals have the opportunity to choose, they prefer to work with multinational companies in other countries. Furthermore, many international companies assist with the entire relocation and visa process to attract skilled labor and optimize their production processes.
The Analyst Evaluates That Brazil Is in Its Brain Drain Process.
